Does the state of dating today make you laugh?

This is probably the single greatest thing I enjoy about G@G. It's the exasperated questions of people regarding relationships that want things to change for them all the while not willing to change one thing about themselves. I don't consider myself a troll as a troll deliberately tries to anger people. I just like like to point out the absurdity of thier expectations. I realize I won't get through to most. This is thier failing, not mine. You can only help those that truly want it.

You can choose to live in that mindset for as long as you'd like, but it's a mindset that's like saying "why do bad things always happen to good people." Is you saying that going to alter the way the world works, no, of course not. People are flawed, and we know as humans that it's harder to see our own flaws than the flaws of others. Okay, so what about it? People are capable of change and will change if and when they are ready, and that's usually about the time they grow up just enough to enter into a relationship that means something and is worth working towards maintaining. If not that, then hopefully they mature enough to be that better person for themselves.

This post operates from the assumption someone wants to mature, is capable of maturing. Which was kind of my point. There are a lot of people t hat view relationships as, "what can you do for me". And that's the extent of it.

People come on here for advice and then dismiss 95% of the advice that is given to them, so it really is a big echo chamber on here when it comes to the topic of dating. In 10 years' time the old same trolls will still be on here, still whining about the same old things, and they will still be as stubborn as ever.

No. In fact, it makes me a little sad and discouraged, and I say this as a married man. I say this because I know that there are a lot of single people out there who want to date, to be in relationships and have that companionship. There's so much wrong with the current dating scene and I feel bad for those who are in it.

But that's kind of my point. People need to understand they're only 50% of the equation. There's no sense beating yourself up for somebody else's issues/failings.

Why would it make me laugh? I just don't bother with it. Dating is toxic. Relationships are pointless. Love doesn't exist only platonic love is worth anything.

I find the state of dating fine for me. I never have much trouble getting dates when I want, but I also go ask. Too many sit at home and expect miracles.
