Maybe because tall women are different from current conventional beauty standards/social expectations/whatever you wanna call it? Right now it's that men must be taller, women must be shorter, men must be physically strong, women must be more dainty, men should be more aggressive and protective, women should be more nurturing and caring, etc...

Really sucks for both men and women who don't meet those standards... including me actually, as I fit into literally none of those three examples.

For what it's worth, my current (and only and first) girlfriend is taller than me. She's also older than me. She's also usually more assertive than me, while I'm more shy (my username checks out, lol). So I guess you could say me and her break gender norms in quite a few ways. I'm not necessarily super feminine and she's not necessarily super masculine, we still look like "regular" men and women from the outside, but we do break gender norms in some ways, even if not in physical appearance, lol.

Its not the only one but it is what draws women in. Similar to how guys are attracted to things like face and body in women at first. Most men are not short so therefore more women will be going for men that are not short even if us short guys are good enough we get overlooked. I'm 5'4, that makes me shorter than 98% of men in my country USA. On average, any full grown man will be taller than me at any moment. Anything beneficial can help to attract women, sure. But any woman can also have many suitors going after her all of which are not short and also have good qualities as well so the choice is on her

No I can promise you as a full grown 5'4 man that women do care about height. It might not be tall but they do. I've been living in the USA all my life. I've never seen THAT many women with short men and a good amount taller. Mind you the average women is not that tiny as well and they are like 5'3 - 5'5. So even if they want a taller guy, not even tall, that would eliminate me and a lot of short men as well just on that alone. I think even just being bare minimum 5'7 for a guy is enough. The only men that have suitors are men that have great traits like rich, good looking, good body w/e. Most guys aren't getting shit

men tend to prefer the woman to be shorter than them, just like women tend to prefer the guy to be taller than them. so obv that means tall girls on average aren't going to be as interesting to guys as shorter ones. though how much of a problem being tall girl is depends on how tall we're talking about. if a girl is 5'7-5'9 shouldn't be a really problem but 6ft+... that's probs going to be complicated

It's the same reason a lot of women wouldn't date short guys. There is a dominant submissive dynamic in the relationship between men and women.

Men generally prefer smaller, shorter, weaker, and younger women whereas women generally prefer bigger, taller, stronger, and older men.

It translates to the bedroom and it has to do with the protective dynamic.

It's not to say all men would not date a taller girl than themselves, but generally the more petite a girl is, the more the guy feels he can toss her around in bed and feels like he can protect her.

The same goes for women. Although there are some girls that would date men shorter than themselves, there aren't many.

I think that men just like women who are taller than they are because being next to them, particularly in public, is vaguely uncomfortable. I've been with women who are taller than I am and I am fine with them as long as we are sitting down and they are not visibly taller than I am. It's when we stand stand up and especially when we walk together that I get vaguely uncomfortable. This is irrational and I know that but the feeling is still there. I can overcome it and it's not a big deal for me but I think for a lot of guys it is.

I also want to note that women are really repelled by men that they consider to be too short for them or that are actually physically shorter than they are and generally refuse to date them or have anything to do with them. I don't think most men carry it that far.

I honestly don't know why it's uncomfortable but I can tell you that it is. I'm 6'2 and I have gone out with women who are taller than I am in that vague feeling of discomfort is absolutely there.
