Is it appropriate for my boyfriend to be friends with a girl he met on a dating app a year before meeting me?

He says they’ve only ever been friends since they met a few years ago, but a lot about his story doesn’t add up in regard to her. I’m not sure what to think.

He used to sleep with girls he met on dating sites, and we met on that same dating site too, so I’m not sure I believe him when he says it was always strictly platonic with her.

Here's the thing I have a lot of friends that are girls and we're good friends but when I start dating somebody I understand that if I say I'm going over to my friend's house and it's a girl it's going to make her think and wonder so in order to keep my relationship good I'm not going to do that if anything I would invite my friend over to the house but that's about it and probably maybe not even then you're right something doesn't add up and it's not cool that he's doing that to you

I wonder what he would say if you were doing the same thing I don't think he would like it that's the sad part is he hasn't put his self in your shoes that's the sad part

When stuff like this happens and keeps happening and keeps happening he's going to grow accustomed to it and think that you should just do whatever he wants or go along with whatever he wants and that's not right either I'm going to say something's wrong with the whole picture

I'm still friends with the person I was dating right before I met my wife. We've commented on each other's socials and text occasionally but there was never a romantic connection. I try to keep it communication to texting rather than in person just so it doesn't become awkward for anyone and my wife has full access to my phone. It's not inappropriate to be friends with someone you dated but it's better let it go

Let me ask you this. What if you were the girl who knew a guy and were friends with him after meeting him on a dating site. Nothing became of it, but you were still good friends. Would you want him to write you off as his friend just because he met another girl? And for the record, sometimes you will tell a friend something you would never tell your husband/wife.

I’m not asking him to write her off. I told him I will probably remove myself from the situation.

He asked me several months ago if I thought people can be friends with someone they slept with when they get in a relationship (which I got upset about), and now she shows up out of nowhere; and he described her as “older,” just like he described a girl he was sleeping with at the time.

This is not a good idea. He can be in a relationship with you but having some sexual encounters with even if it is not sex. Just some practice around. Especially when alone it happens if one have feelings for the other.
