As a rule, men EVALUATE, but they don't create artificial scenarios to test women. Rather, they tend to simply observe women's behavior during normal, ordinary activities. They may also ask questions, but they don't set up women with fake tests. That's largely limited to (some) women.

Women love to give men "shit tests" and otherwise play games to try to gain leverage in the relationship, and some go to insane lengths to do so. Hell, right here on GaG, on any given day, there are examples of women giving men shit tests. Whether it's inviting friends to dates (expecting him to both share her attention and to pay for everything), or throwing out his food, or deleting his TV show or video game saved game, or recruiting a friend to hit on him, certain women love to play these kinds of games.

Men evaluate women's behavior because they are trying to discover her morals and values, but women test men to manipulate and seek power.

Spending some time dating people- in a variety of situations- is the "test". That is the reason to date many other people.

Yes I think I do, a lot of it is probably not really conscious, but especially early in a relationship or if anything major might change, you want to feel confident that it will be good, so you might evaluate how he reacts to something or how he talks or seems to think about something. For example bringing him around my parents for the first time, you could consider a test, or having him stay with me when I am babysitting, or lots of things like that.

People test sometimes consciously and sometimes subconsciously. What’s better then testing is a little thing called communication but some people can’t communicate like adults so they resort to childish behavior that will chase someone away that you care about.

Now there are some things I get but if you can’t trust someone such as getting a friend to try to cheat with them to see if they’ll do it. Testing someone to see if they’ll put up with their shit as dark personalities go…. And when they are shocked that someone doesn't put up with it leaving them single…. Again.

It depends on what kind of test it is though. We do want to make sure we are with a good person who has our best interests at heart the way we do them.

The moment I say yes to go out with a girl or to start going out with her I already know in that moment exactly how she's going to be otherwise I wouldn't go out with her

Men? Not so much. I feel like women actively test intentionally and in a shady and manipulative way.
If a man tests you, he usually isn't doing it on purpose. He isn't setting you up. It's just something that happens naturally within the course of events. And he notices how you behave.

I rarely use the word "should" but I'm going to here. No one should ever create "tests" for another person. That kind of behavior is an immature, manipulative trap. Just take your time to really get to know the person and observe their behavior in all kinds of situations. Have lots of in depth conversations and see if their actions match their words. Those are the real tests of someone's character.

We're far less likely to create scenarios where we can "see what she'll do" in the context that we'd already sized her up as a potential mate. We'd be watching and analysing how she carries herself in normal everyday situations because then she's at her more natural state instead of creating fake situations that are meant to catch her out.

Oh she offered to pay when I was about to pay for everything. O she insisted on paying, interesting. She is very polite to everyone. She is very easy to communicate with and to plan things with. She arrived on time, Everytime. She was comfortable around my friends. She likes my pets.

If you know what to look for you don't need much to know. When you want to be exclusive you lay out your boundaries. I don't need to test her I'll know. But no doubt men and women test each other.
