Why do tall women get garbage for preference in taller men?

I mean we’re allowed to have preferences for tall men too. Look as long as a man has a great personality, funny, honest and trustworthy, short, average or taller, then it wouldn’t matter. I was told by my best friends that I can’t be that picky because I will miss out on a great guy because I always expect men to be like 6’2 or 6’5.
She said so what if a guy is shorter than me or chubby? If he’s a sweet, genuine man, then that shouldn’t matter. She said, “Well you tall women are taller than the majority of men so you don’t really have a choice but to date men shorter than you. So what if short women are shorter than most men? Big deal! So what if a 5’2 woman has a 6’4 husband? When are you tall girls going to realize that you will have to date men shorter than you or your height? You’re as tall or taller than most men and if you keep rejecting or not look a shorter man’s way, you will miss out it on a great catch and be an old woman with cats. Just accept that you’re taller than most men and take a chance in love. Besides short men LOVE them some sexy tall women. It’s the truth.”
Not all short men like tall women. My ex boyfriend cheated on me with a very petite woman. He was 5’5 and she looked like she was 4’8”. I’m a big girl at 5’11, and I am taller than most men. Every guy I’ve dated is s shorter than me and I prefer tall men but they won’t look my way and prefer women 5’5 and under.
My crush said I was too tall for him and he was I think 7’0”. Not joking. He said he likes women under 5’6 and under.

Your friend is right.

You are silly for expecting a guy to be taller than you to the point of not being interested in a guy you otherwise would be. Height should not be the thing that keeps you from liking someone you're attracted to in looks and personality.

It's fine to have a preference. We all have preferences. That's fine. But it should be a CRITERIA.

I'll give you an example. I have a definite preference for white girls. All of my ex girlfriends, and the majority of the girls I've been with have been white girls.

Does that mean I would not be interested in a girl I found attractive and had chemistry with if the girl were Black or Asian?

Of course not! That would be absurd! I like the girl. Just because she doesn't match my preference (on race rather than height) doesn't mean anything. I like the girl because I'm attracted to more than her race.

In the face of someone I liked, race being a problem would be MY problem right?

That applies to you and height. You can believe whatever you please. Its just extremely shallow. Your friend is 100% right.

Everyone can have preferences and people judge taller women too for dating shorter men. It’s a personal thing for everyone and everyone’s different. It doesn’t mean someone hates you as a human being because they aren’t attracted move on.

I have a issue though with people who have double standards more of a frustrating way of thinking. When someone is angry because let’s say taller men want shorter women but also doesn’t want anyone feeling entitled to them. Some people can dish rejection but not take it.

I don't think tall women get garbage for preferences in taller men at all. But if a 5ft 2 girl said she'd only date 6ft and up, I would think it is pretty weird. But regardless, she'd also be entitled to her preferences. As long as these people don't berate/dehumanise shorter men, which some women tend to do, I think it's totally fine for any woman to have a preference for any height or whatever the characteristic might be.
You do reduce your dating pool significantly if you're like the though, so that's something to be mindful of.

Yeah, life is tough for a tall woman.

Any woman who prefers taller men limits her choices. The more selective you are, the fewer chances you have to find someone. This is true of all criteria (and true for men as well!).

If you can't find someone that you think is good enough, then either change your expectations, or prepare for loneliness. :-(

Personality is always the most important thing in any relationship. If you remove personality from the equation what do you got left anyways? There is nothing wrong with you having your preference, but remember if you don''t click with the guy taller than you, then you really don't have the guy anyways.

Tall women usually have a garbage personality. Women who are tall think they're OWED a tall man simply because they're tall. That's like a guy saying he's owed a skinny hot chick. I'm well over 6 feet, I could care less about a woman's height. But short girls generally make the most effort to know me. While tall women typically just gawk awkwardly.

People often criticize preferences when they feel excluded by them, but everyone has the right to their own attractions. Tall women preferring taller men isn’t any more 'garbage' than someone preferring a certain hair color or personality type. It only becomes an issue when people use preferences to belittle others — and that goes both ways.
