What makes men stop dressing up?

We have been together for more than 2 years, when we first got together or in our first date he was always dressed up so nicely, but now he changes.
He look kinda mess, wearing shorts and T-shirt almost every time we go out.

I wants to ask him but afraid it would offend him.

It's normal for a guy to be more "on point" when he's meeting you for the first time or courting you. It's part of the "honeymoon phase" of a relationship. As he becomes more accustomed to being around you he relaxes a bit and wears his favorite things more than he will his "i need to impress this person" things. It's a compliment (on the one hand) and a let down (on the other hand). You're expecting consistency and he's revealing this new version of himself to you.

Another interpretation is that he's stopped giving a shit, either because he is going through some other life crisis or because he's "checked you off his to do list" and now considers you "a sure thing" no matter how he goofs up.

SO... if you liked your Dapper Dan more when he was in show pony mode, let him know that you'd like him to dress up a little more... perhaps not ALL the time but at least a couple of times a week.

OOOOR if you don't directly want to address it, pick out a tie/accessory for him and bring it over as a little gift. Tell him, "This would look really good with that blue suit I love so much on you." He should get the hint...

Well, he's gotten comfortable with you. He doesn't have to impress you anymore. So it's relaxed around you.

If you are afraid to ask for what you want, it's not much of a relationship. Do you really want to stay with a lazy slob, or do you just think it's the best you can do? Tell him that you liked it when he made an effort to dress nicely. If he doesn't change, then you can either accept it or end it.
