A long time friend has been dating since his divorce, he was showing me photos of women who liked him on Facebook dating. A beautiful black woman had liked him, I said wow she’s beautiful. He responded with “black women have a stinky vagina” I was honestly shocked, I didn’t know what to say, I honestly didn’t think he was capable of being so racist.
I’m now perplexed 😕 should I even consider this guy a friend?

That sounds like a click bait degrading black women, either base on experience or trying to find out if there’s a truth to it. Don’t generalize all black women in the same basket. Whether you appreciate or don’t appreciate someone views, your morals guide you on who to keep in your circle, your boundaries tells who you are. I am not dismissing his experience, maybe he did experience a stinky pussy, but it’s not own to black women ONLY. As a black woman myself, I found SOME of the white women/most non black I’ve been in temp contact with stinkier.
Some white men/ even some black men, and other races own to these here …. Too!
Why they have poor hygiene, they don’t shower often. Some shower once a week (shower twice a day/if you can’t do it 3 times a day). They don’t scrub/exfoliate. Their breath stink, smell acidic, because they don’t brush their tongue, the tongue holds a lot of germs. You should spend 3 minutes brushing your teeth, e-toothbrush don’t do the job well. They don’t wipe their rear well, either you smell it, or see the train track in their laundry, even in dry clothes. You should change your underwear every-time you shower, at least twice a day. At least have a signature perfume. don’t smell like shower soap and deodorants only. A lot of them have no sense of fashion, they just put on clothes. If someone put a little effort that person is already a threat, you look better so you think you might be better than me, and then they become toxic. Goodness the horror. Where I live, I encounter a lot of cavemen mentality, and they talk and act brutal, even simple respectful manners and authenticity is considered weak.
I'd step back a bit and maybe consider him. Friend and not a close friend or at least keep what he said in the back of your mind. Maybe even speak out next time he says that and correct him. If the guy is realy a close friend, being corrected might help him change his prejudices and open up his mind a bit.
I watched a video long ago and it was a clip from a TV show. Paramedics were sitting there talking and one was super vocal about some racist comments but the other one wasn't vocal about it. There was a car crash and the lady was black. The first vocal dude didn't skip beat and went in to save her. The second non vocal dude (apparently he was never exposed to black people and grew up in a small town of only white people) and he froze and couldn't even bring himself to touch her...
So it just shows you a lot on how actions sometimes matter more than words that might be said so much around someone that is becomes part of their vocabulary. But do they believe it? Being vocally racist isn't good, but we are in a world that is transitioning. There were very very racist things happening in the world 2-3 generations ago. The vocabulary isn't going to go away that fast. But people are understanding that in work places and public places its not acceptable
Yeah, 10 years ago, at the print shop where I'd been working for 11 years, they hired this Korean guy that would sometimes call me, "n**". If I was any whiter, I'd glow in the dark!! We got a new owner who decided to move the company too far away for much of any of us to get to so, I ended up switching to another print shop about 7 blocks from my house and there were several people that would quite often refer to blacks as "niggers" and they'd say really nasty shit about them!! Even the boss did that!! Eventually, he hired a black guy to drive the delivery truck and, all of a sudden, there were no more racist comments!! Although he's not really a friend of mine, I did meet Angelo Moore a couple times and chat with him face to face for a while after a couple of his gigs with Fishbone and, I saw a video on YT at least a decade ago where he mentioned to his bass player, Norwood Fisher, that he HATES white people!! But, I guess he LOVES all the money his fans, mostly white people, spend on their records and concerts!!
Are you light skinneded or actually lily-white? If so why was the Korean guy calling you a nagger? Was that the only insult he knew? Kind of funny if so.
Not Phu? That's kind of interesting. I know I saw a video of some sort of Asian guy yelling nagger at a bunch of American basketball players. My understanding is that it was some sort of insult with a different meaning. Who knows. Rather humorous in my estimation then.
My friend (black) and I grew up next to each other. Spent millions of hours together in a mostly white neighborhood and school. When we got to be late teens and college, he started distincing himself from me and others. I approached him about it a few years after college, he told me to fuck off because I was white and could not understand his problems. We did not speak for an about 12 years after that. His mom died, she was awesome, loved her. I received a voicemail from him, stating that his mom died, and that she really liked me and would want me at her wake. I attended the wake and funeral. We hashed things out, and although he lives on the other side of the country, we talk regularly again, and share family pics. He wasn't wrong in what he said, originally; however, he was wrong about whether I cared or not. It's all good now, thank god!
I think it’s good to reconsider friendship values and morals. I think I did once had a friend who said something a little racist. I kinda just gave her a shocking look and made it known of her prejudices isn’t true. I think it’s up to you if you wanna take it in on how to perceive him and be cautious or you can create an open discussion and educate him it’s not okay to generalize a woman of color as such.
I don’t know his complete history with women. He mentioned a black woman in specific as a reference for believing what he said. I was in a relationship with a black woman and I didn’t find that to be true.
I was very disappointed to hear a comment like that. I mean who could honestly believe something so stupid. So it must represent a hatred towards black women.
Many do. But woman kept doing it until the men of her race abuse her badly. She ended up going after men based on their heart not skin colour Got banned from GAG saying that
I experienced a little of both in my workplace. I was also passed over for job advancements that were given to other individuals who couldn't handle the position they were given.
