How long would you stay in the friendzone?

It doesn't work like that (or shouldn't). You agree to be friends with a girl because you actually genuinely want to be friends with her.

If she's told you she isn't interested in you romantically, but would like to be friends... you have a choice.

You either:

1`. Realize you can't (or don't want to) be her friend because of your feelings for her. That's totally fair. Totally valid.

or

2. You be her friend with no hopes whatsoever of being anything more (like with any other female friend).

There is no "friendzone" or at least there shouldn't be.

If someone feels like they're in the friendzone, I can't help but assume... it just means the person doesn't actually want to be friends. They're trying to use friendship in hopes of changing the person's feelings towards them over time. That's not a valid thing to do. Or rather it's not a valid thing to be frustrated, bitter or upset, about.

They said "no." It's your fault if you purposefully choose to think they meant "maybe in the future, if you are my friend for a while first."

Personally, I don't think there is a friendzone. That's not how I've ever looked at it.
