the sky into your couch. You’re 33 you have agency. Communicate to him that you literally want to watch the movie. If he has different expectations it’s important to shut that down. If there is a real divide in what you both are comfortable with it may not the the right person to watch a movie with.
i know Netflix and chill is a thing but that doesn’t mean no guys actually like to watch movies and can do it without sex.
I would not assume a guy I’m dating would assume a movie meant sex but I wouldn’t date a guy I don’t trust. the fact you are worrying about him, is what bothers me here. Not the fact I assume he expects sex.
Do yourself a favor and talk to him if you’re concerned. If you can’t talk things out, reconsider.
31 Reply- 1 y
You're right. Thank you. I will talk things out.

1 yJust be upfront before the date. Let him know that it is a boundary you have set. If he doesn't show up then you know that sex was all he wanted.

That's true. Thanks!

I'm so glad that it went well. Did you ever tell him?

1 yYou are being naive. That being said, you can (and should) make clear that this isn't what you have in mind. You can wait until the moment, or set the parameters out right from the start. Or even before the date. I'm a big fan of nobody being confused.
There is an implication about a Netflix date at your house. It's not that he'll be coming expecting sex, but he will be thinking there's a high likelihood. He's certainly hoping. He wouldn't be surprised. Otherwise...(the thinking goes) why wouldn't you choose some other activity for your date?
Again, there is no expectation. It's just a private place to have your date. So it implies you might want to be alone in a way you can't do at the movies, or dinner, or mini-golfing or whatever.
What it leads to is entirely up to you. Always.
30 Reply 1.3K opinions shared on Dating topic. They don't call it "Netflix and chill" for nothing. Even if you're not expecting 'more' there is a good chance that he will. Make it clear early on that you're not ready for that kind of thing yet.

Ok I will. Thanks.

u 1 yYou know almost nothing about this guy and you invited him to your home for a second date. Don’t you think that is a risky situation if you aren’t ready to have sex with him (and I’m not suggesting you should do that.)
13 Reply- 1 y
Yeah I think it's definitely a risky situation but I will put a stop to it if he seems like he wants to go that route. From what I observed so far from him is that he seems like he isn't the player type or the fuckboy type so I don't think he will try anything but if he does it will probably just be kissing and cuddling.
- 1 y
I hope it goes well for you!
- 1 y
Thanks. I hope so too!

1 yWhat I think isn't important. What you thin is what's important. I would caution going into a date with a pre-conceived notion of what might, or might not, happen. Just njoy the date.

1 yThat's your idea for a date, watching TV with a bowl of popcorn? But, I'm thinking that you don't really want to go out, so TV, and some activities afterwards that may require licking hot butter off of certain body parts may be in order.
21 Reply- 1 y
That last part is certainly not happening but thanks for your input. I'm actually not really a going out kind of person so it's actually fine with me as long as it doesn't go further than watching the movie.

Make sure the message cannot be misconstrued and stick to it because if you let it go there after saying so, then respect and boundaries are thus opened to being broken and pressured.

1 yWishing and hoping isn't the way to go. Lay out the ground rules and stick to them. If you're "worried", and I mean truly fearful that you'll be subject to sexual advances that he would not stop if you told him to, that's a problem. If that's the case, you shouldn't even be dating the guy, much less having him come to your house at all.
13 Reply- 1 y
He's not like that. At least I didn't get those kind of vibes from him. I wouldn't have invited him if I got weird or creepy vibes from him. I just don't know where his head is at is all. He could be genuinely interested in just watching the movies with me. But I will lay out the ground rules and stick to them.
- 1 y
Exactly. Just because you didn't get creepy vibes doesn't guarantee they won't come out if you guys get aroused. It's your second date. I don't recommend him coming over at this point, and I surely don't recommend making out with him yet. But, you've made the invite, so be careful.
- 1 y
Thanks. I will.
1 yI think it depends on how well you have known him before you had your first date. If you only met him a short time ago, I would hold off on this kind of date, just to avoid an potentially awkward situation.

1 yjust talk to him or tell if he tries anything
i personally don't do dates like that until i trust and know them more. bc by that point they've probably figured out i don't like touch and i don't gotta worry about it13 Reply- 1 y
Ok I will.
- 1 y
if you're worried about it coming off weird talking about it before the date
you can just wait till he tries something more than what you're comfortable with and stop him. don't even gotta like say it but just casually push his hand away or whatever it is. you can say something if he tries again - 1 y
Ok I'll definitely do that. I have no problem pushing guys away when they try to make advances at me.

1 y@Simslover92 I'd cancel & it's a known slang term - google Netflix and chill slang meaning : it does mean sex
16 Reply- 1 y
Yet hey, you do you lady :) 😆🤭
- 1 y
Ok thanks.
- 1 y
@Simslover92 my judgement has been clouded recently by just feeling moody & it's not from a bad place, it's more like a burst of clarity 🫠😁
- 1 y
Oh ok. You're fine. I understand. And you're probably right but I think I'm going to still do it but just go in discussing that it's not that kind of date.
- 1 y
@Simslover92 you do you lady ; as usual no one ever really follows anyone elses but their own mind lol 😆 selfish humans we all are lol
- 1 y
Lol.
So it keeps it strictly movies. If he makes a move decline it. If he asks why be honest. Men can be respectful.
If he's not understanding or tries to convince you to do more send him home. He's not worth it and you should move on.
10 Reply1.8K opinions shared on Dating topic. That kind of date is leaving the door open to more. Perhaps after the movie go out for something to eat if he is giving signs of unwanted affection.
11 Reply- 1 y
Ok thanks I will definitely suggest that!
- 1K opinions shared on Dating topic.
1 yMaybe. Go as far as you're willing. Be honest and sincere about your limits. Let the chips fall where they may. Better than waking up with massive regrets. If he can't handle that, be grateful you found out early rather than later.

1 yI don’t think it’s bad to hope that but realistically I feel like he’s gonna want more. I don't know I feel like romance and cuddles is scarce these days.
134 Reply- 1 y
Yeah I think so too. I don't mind cuddling or even kissing but sex is just a bit much for the second date.
- 1 y
Same!! I miss those long makout sessions and neck kisses that stayed there until I was ready. I miss the yearning that my younger dating years pre losing my v card had.
- 1 y
Especially that I’ve had a kid now I almost feel pressured to put out right off the bat
- 1 y
Your still young Kitty :D
- 1 y
@PeterLegg91 no I’m old
- 1 y
Yeah I miss it too. But I'm sorry that you feel pressured to put out right off the bat. You really shouldn't have to.
- 1 y
If your old at 29, at 34 I must be ancient then 😆
- 1 y
It’s ok lol I promise it’s not bad I’m just b. a. c I’ve been celibate so long I find icks in every guy I try to get to know. I won’t give into the pressure i promise
- 1 y
@PeterLegg91 it’s ok I like old men so I’m sure there’s still hope out there for you
- 1 y
Good. Please don't. They aren't worth it. You deserve to find a guy who will respect you and wait until you are ready!
- 1 y
Old men? Thanks :(
- 1 y
It’s so bad though… the dating pool rn is crazy. I went on tinder last night and instantly deleted 😬
- 1 y
Oh yeah tinder is the worst. I got on there for like 5 mins and immediately got off. Try Hinge. It's much better.
- 1 y
Is hinge free?
- 1 y
It's free but you get better matches with hinge x the upgraded version. But I luckily found him with the free version.
- 1 y
I'll try that then once I move house over the weekend 👍
- 1 y
Lmao I think it’s bad too because where I live. It’s a farming town. I’ve been on hinge and it’s the same people on tinder, I think I’m gonna join a country club for golf and take my odds there.
- 1 y
Oh dang I'm sorry. That sucks.
- 1 y
You might get a hole In one 😆
- 1 y
It’s ok lol im gonna keep praying for that hot farmer to come along
- 1 y
Takes off his overalls and has a nice six pack body, mmmmmmmmmm yes please ;)

@PeterLegg91 and you might not be able to walk after a couple of swings
- 1 y

- 1 y
You good 👍
- 1 y
That's just the kids making you feel old because they wore you down.
- 1 y
Love the update!!! Does he snore?
- 1 y
No not at all.
- 1 y
Aww so it was a cute romantic moment!
- 1 y
Yes it was!
I think at 33 you should have the ability to assertively but subtly tell him no if he does. you should never lay with someone just to please them and be afraid you'll lose them if you don't. setting healthy boundaries is essential for any relationship if it is to succeed.
10 Reply- 3.3K opinions shared on Dating topic.
1 yIt probably will if you let it. But if you push his hand away when he goes to feel your boob and just stick to holding hands and a kiss goodnight, he should respect that.

1 yDon't hope that he will be a mind reader and pick up that your version of Netflix & Chill doesn't include any chilling unless you clearly communicate your boundaries.
10 Reply329 opinions shared on Dating topic. He will not do anything you don't allow. However, at your age, your choices are limited, so if you do nothing, he may choose not to see you again.

10 Reply 3.6K opinions shared on Dating topic. It's very unsafe to go on a date at someone house so quickly... Yes he would obviously want sex

1 yThat's extremely naive lol
Netflix and chill is code for "sex at your house" for a reason.
10 Reply 2.1K opinions shared on Dating topic. I don’t know if the date already happened
But my guess is the guy had a condom on him “just in case”
What it leads to is up to you ultimately but I doubt he’ll be the one to say no if you made a move on him00 Reply
Anonymous(36-45)1 yI don't know your date, but it's possible, maybe he is hoping for more.
14 Reply- 1 y
I don't know him well enough yet but he seems like a good guy but that doesn't negate the fact that he's still a guy and might be thinking in the back of his mind that things might progress towards physical intimacy which again I am so not ready for. I guess I will just have to see how things go and hope that he understands that I'm just not ready for that kind of thing.
Opinion Owner1 yI understand, good luck.

- 1 y
I didn't have to say anything. I think he just knew it wasn't going to go there and he just wanted to cuddle instead.
- 1 y
No I didn't. I decided to just let it play out and let the chips fall where they may and I'm glad I did because he was a perfect gentleman.
