So I'm really kinda worried about this because all over the internet everyone talks about how not only are movies a terrible first date idea but dinner is a horrible first date idea as well šØ I'm so sorry I'm just... im a dumbass you know?When I asked her out I didn't really think about the actual date that much because I was more concerned about her saying yes or or no or calling the police. When I came up with the movie/dinner idea I thought it was good because I love movies, she said she was into superhero movies, and there isn't anything else to do. Sure I could have gotten us a ride to the park by my house but nobody is ever there and the nearest fast food place is like a 3 mile walk (why do you think I hate bike rides). So that really wouldn't be romantic to walk in the hot ass florida sun to McDonald's or burger king would it?Lesson learned, never take a girl here..I picked chillis because it's the closest thing to an "upscale" restaurant near my house. I didn't want her to think I'm cheap and don't care (even though I'm poor as piss) and I didn't want to just see a movie and drop her off back at home, hungry and pissed off that we couldn't even have a decent conversation.Unfortunately...So now that I've fucked up and learned my lesson, I'm asking gag how to fix this if it's really that bad. I can't really change the plans because I already brought the tickets and asked my sister to drive us around for the night. I plan on sitting next to her though when we eat I guess? She keeps texting me and she seems really into me (she called me a gentlemen last night). I don't wanna fuck this up for her. With that being said did I have to reserve the seats for dinner? I have no fucking clue what I'm doing to be honest...

Just let it flow really.. If a girl is really interested in you, then all the other stuff won't matter.. I mean you in college, wit a job, tryna do somethin with yo life.. You are good.. Our first date was Black Panther and after that a bar. We talked all night long and it was a real good date. We connected really well and had a conversation starter = the movie we watched.
Okay so you made plans and at this point who cares what those are. What you cannot do is mention any of this to her on the date. Don't second guess yourself to her or ask if a movie and dinner was really okay? This is now your time to just relax and get to know her. Find out what else she likes. Maybe your second date can be at a Dave and Busters or fancy bowling or something.

Honestly, I don't really care much where we go out on our first date as long as the date itself is enjoyable. Make the most out of it. After all, it's with the right company a date becomes memorable not the place or the food or the movie. Who cares about a movie when I am enthralled with a handsome man beside me?
First of all relax. You can pick her up tonight and see how it goes. Ask her if she still wants to go to the movies (I know you bought the tickets already but maybe she wants more time with you?).
Go watch that movie, then you can suggest to have a walk in the park or something (if you can find and pick a flower for her it's a + for you) and ask her if she's hungry and casually suggest, I know this place it's close to home, so we wouldn't have to walk a lot, how does it sound to you? (She will most probably say yes, but it is good to show that you value her opinion).
During dinner you probably can't talk a lot, but you can still pick up conversation while waiting for it, or make a joke with the salad (or whatever comes to your mind). You can also show some affection by feeding her... share a dessert together. Avoid looking cheap by saying something like "That was nice! I am full, but still would like to try this, would you like to share maybe?" Also don't forget to thank her for the great evening, show her you enjoyed it... (if you actually want to see her again)

First dates should be simple and cheap. Anything else is you being stupid. Do not spend very much money on a first date. It could be the last date, in which case all of the money you spent was poorly invested. It also alleviates any pressures she might feel based on your spending. It should also allow for conversation. Movies are a good pass time, but on their own are poor dates because you can not talk during them. Dinner is a much more productive date since it encourages conversation. Dinner and a movie at least gives you an ice breaker to initiate conversation, but again, spend little. Do not try to impress her with money. The first date is to verify that she is even worth impressing.
I mean it's not the best for a first date, but it's also not the end of the world. The problem with a movie date is that you can't really talk much or get to know each other during the movie, and that's kind of the whole point of a first date unless you already know each other pretty well. A dinner is fine, just don't eat something sloppy and messy like spaghetti or tacos. And definitely DON'T sit next to her, sit across from her! That way you can easily look into each other's eyes while talking and there's no awkward bumping of arms while eating. I'm sure things will be fine. Just focus on having a good time with her, all the things you'll be doing (eating, watching movie) will be secondary.

No i think this is a great idea! Just arrive at the movie theaters early and chat for a bit. And don't be nervous ok? My first date was a disaster. My friends sister had died so we decided to go to the visitation. After wards we had no clue what to do. I had forgotten to make any plans! So we sat around for 10 mins trying to figure out what to do.
We drove around looking for something to do until supper. So dinner rolled around and we went to this nice restaurant. But it was full! It would be a 30 min wait. So we waited. We ended that night with a hug.
Despite all of this it was fun and we got to know each other. It must not have been to bad because now I'm getting her a promise ring.

You asked this person out, make sure you have enough money to pay for it. You're treating her. If you can't afford it, then request what does she want to do that is cheaper. Otherwise, it's your date, do what you want as long as you get the answers you need in knowing each other. Communicate with her. She is YOUR date.

The thing about movies is that you don't really get to talk and interact. If this is your first date than you probably don't know each other very well and communication and interaction is more crucial.

I think dinner is a fine first date, it gives you plenty of time to talk and get to know each other. Personally I never take someone to the movies on a first date because you don't get any time to interact with each other, you're essentially just sitting in a dark room with someone you barely know. That said, it's nothing that would scare them off, it's a classic date and a lot of people do it. Definitely dinner before the movie for this one. You'll be fine, just try not to be so nervous, deep breaths.
I think it's a bad idea. During a meal, sure can talk a bit, but most time is spent eating. As for a movie, you are looking at the screen, so you aren't talking and not even looking at eachother. Personally, I think a first date is something where you try to build a reasonable connection in person. Even if you've been talking online for a while, or friends or ages before now, a first date is all about being into eachother, something you can't do much of when your attention I'd focused elsewhere.
Actually... Your date doesn't sound that bad. And I'll tell you why: it's the order of operations. Seeing the movie first and THEN having dinner gives you the opportunity to enjoy the movie together and then talk about it afterwards, and then talk about whatever else comes to mind. I donāt think so, I enjoy these kind of dates but maybe the dinner FIRST. So you can talk & get to know each other prior to the movie so you can be comfortable enough to cuddle up DURING the movie😏
Actually I did this with my first girlfriend (the one who cheated on me ironically). We went to see infinity war together and she took of her shoes and layed on my arm the whole movie. It was quite relaxing š

I've been there. In my opinion its not a totally bad first date idea. Pick her up earlier and arrive to the theaters at least 15-20 mins early so you two can chat for a bit before the movie. Plus after watching the movie you two should have something to talk about during dinner.
Why not make it simplw and cute? Would you really care about material on a first date? Or you'd care more about the partner's taste and how they'd think of something creative for you? I think that matters a lot more than a shallow dinner first date 🤷
A first date should allow you to talk a lot, really get to know each other. I would personally do dinner and then a movie so sitting next to them for whole movie in silence is less awkward. I doubt you have to reserve seats for a chilis.
I think people say that because you canāt talk during a movie and so itās harder to get to know the person but on the bright side it gives you something to talk about afterwards!
I didnāt have a good experience at the movies so I ended it before going to dinner and wasting my time but honestly it probably wouldnāt have been good anyways. He was way to handsy to my liking. But for some people movies and going out can be nice!
