You can “settle for the best” in life


Yes relationships are by definition settling since you’re agreeing to take yourself out of the dating pool in exchange for one person taking themselves out as well and getting into a private pool with you forever


But it doesn’t mean that everyone is just taking what they can get and leaving better options out there
Many people take the ideal for them. And “settle for true happiness”


So when you ask to be proven wrong it’s a little complicated.

But if your implication is that monogamy is a coping mechanism then yes you are dead wrong


Also polyamory and all the other “alt lifestyles” are post modern bullshit.
They work for some, not for others
But ultimately they aren’t foundations for a long lasting society

It looks nice from outside to think about poly that it's completely ok. But in real who is truly happy as well as truly in loving relationship being poly? Why poly is required? Just because someone wants to have many partners? Then what's the fault of those who are sharing you with others? Are they asexual to not crave for your love when you are giving it to someone else? Are they robot to not feel jealous or insecure that someone else can have all the attention and they may lose behind? Why he/she has to share you with another person when they are giving you their full? Is it right?

Are you tho? Since you are trying to prove being promiscuous is better than sharing love between two people. I bet you have never been completely in love with someone, and if you had they did something wrong to you. I think that because if you ever experienced an amazing real love where you both cared about the other one more than yourself you would see you will never have that with more than one person, since the feelings would get diluted..
