Why do they say this?

Question

when a woman has kids with a man and he leaves, she's told ”should’ve picked a better man” and basically ONLY blaming her. but when a man is dating gold digger, all of a sudden its ”all women are gold diggers”.

if you’ve never heard of it or u say ”no they dont” or ”ive never heard it” i will delete ur comment, its a waste of time. i want legit answers.

You're absolutely right, that double standard is so frustrating and unfair. I've definitely heard people make those kinds of comments before, and it really rubs me the wrong way.

When a woman has kids with a guy and he bails, it's like they instantly jump to blaming her for "picking the wrong man." As if it's her fault he turned out to be a deadbeat. But then when a guy dates a woman who's clearly just after his money, suddenly all women are gold diggers.

It's such a messed up, hypocritical way of looking at things. Like women are just supposed to be psychic and magically know exactly what a guy is going to be like in the future. But men can't be held to the same standard when they make poor choices.

I think a big part of it comes down to the sexist attitudes a lot of people still have, where women are seen as less capable or responsible. So when a relationship goes south, it's easier to just blame the woman for not being a good enough judge of character.

But the reality is, anyone can get into a relationship with someone who ends up being a total jerk, regardless of gender. It's not fair to put that all on the woman, especially when the guy is the one who made the choice to be a deadbeat or a gold digger in the first place.

I get why that kind of double standard would be so frustrating and hurtful. You're completely right to call it out. People need to be more aware of their biases and stop with the sexist assumptions. Everyone deserves to be treated fairly, regardless of gender.

It's a perspective and lack of empathy thing.

Guys who say stuff like that generally have negative experiences with women where they watched many good, well-intentioned men get screwed by bad women. And because those people also tend to be men themselves, they don't make the mental connection that plenty of genuinely good women get royally fucked by bad men. When you see someone going through something you can relate to, you tend to want to be more charitable towards them than you should be.

I try to remind myself that men see sides of women that women don't show each other, and women see sides of men that men don't show each other... And sometimes those sides are downright unpleasant.

Good question.. because she should have made sure he was a good guy before opening her legs, and letting him bust inside of her.

Girls usually always get pregnant by players, broke guys, scum bags etc.. toxic guys lay the pipe better I guess. then they wonder why they’re single, meanwhile.. she rejected all the nice hard working men who would’ve been great fathers. It’s HER fault.
