Is he a depressed case loner hiding mental health issues?

I’m experiencing a disconnect with M35 and it’s only been a month of online dating. this guy who lives in another country said he is serious with me and about getting to know me and we would talk 4 to 5 times a week the first two weeks probably 1 to 2 hours a day if not more...

The guy is sweet, introverted, shy, and sensitive, but clearly has issues. The second weekend he was totally offline “at the seaside with no connection”. Immediately, got loner vibes… Week 3, offline five days. Week 4 finally admits to being exhausted from working too much. He said, "I know sorry I've been a bit absent.. I'm working too much and I come home exhausted."

Apologizes multiple times then goes offline AGAIN for a week… I realize this has nothing to do with me but it’s a HORRIBLE coping mechanism.

I genuinely believe that he's hiding in mental health and friends that are suffering depression do this disappearing act for long periods of time. So he started small with just a weekend and then it was five to a legend work, stress, and exhaustion, which is a real thing, but proceeded to go off-line again after touching base for just a few days over text to inform me of his terrible work week. So I guess his misery and work exhaustion continued into the next week because now he didn't reply for a week...

what's making me angry is that he apologized repeatedly about being overworked, stress, and exhaustion, and then he doesn't change or improve his behavior. He just proceeds to go off-line again for another Week, which made things worse...

I told him if he's suffering deeper issues that he should let me know because I can't have somebody disappearing repeatedly. I already told him this from the start that I do not want a person that is disconnected for days especially in an LDR.

I think he isn't sharing his honest mental health state & he already has social anxiety and he's very shy and introverted...
