I mean, it would really depend on what you meant by hard times. If you mean he lost his job, probably not. If you mean that they are no longer compatible or he is abusing her, then probably yes. It's all a matter of perspective and really needs to be clarified.
70% of woman say finances are the most important part of relationships and a third of marriages end in divorce. Out of that third it is again 70% of the time the woman that decides she's board and leaves. It's a statistical fact that woman are more likely to bail on a man then the other way around.

Depends why we are having bad times.. Are we just going through a tight spot because his hours got cut/parents died having a bout of depression or was the guy addicted to gambling and put us into tons of debt? The latter I would leave.
I tries to push mine away when I became really really ill and he would have none of it. Sometimes you love someone enough to let them go for their good. Sometimes you love someone enough to never let them try. I would have done the same in the flip.
I think so if she has a better opportunity to choose.
People aren't loyal as they proclaim to be in particular when things get seriously bad financially or health wise and there's no benefit to gain form..
