People call dating apps “endless rigid buffets” because that’s exactly how they feel.

You scroll through options like dishes on a menu.

You judge fast.

You pick based on looks.

And half the time, you don’t even taste the food, you just move on.

But honestly, it’s not the apps themselves.

It’s how people use them.

When you treat it like a buffet, it becomes one.

When you treat it like a place to actually connect, it feels different, slower, more human, less exhausting.

So yeah, the joke kind of lands.

But the reality?
It depends on the person holding the phone.

I would say a more accurate depiction would be is it's a place where 95% are window shopping but with no intention of buying.

If you look at it as only 5% are taking it seriously you get a more realistic depiction.

And by the way, this doesn't mean that I think guys should not take online dating serious. I'm simply saying that online dating for men should be the inverse of real life dating. IMHO no guy should ever message a woman first on an online dating app. women need to understand the sheer volume ( as I said 95%) of women that have no intention of ever responding to any man on dating apps. Guys need to understand that if no guy ever messaged a woman first on dating apps then the women who weren't serious would eventually go away. Guys IMHO need to only put forth the same energy women do. This is the only way you fix online dating.

It will have the same outcome as saying it in any other context


You want success on dating apps you need to play the game
Text, flirt, banter, take interest, show initiative, meet in real life


It’s not shopping for pussy like so many think before getting disappointed
