In university I had crushes but it was never intense, because no guy in university is so superior, that you cannot replace him with another equally attractive guy. There is only one time where I was stuck on a guy, because he seemed unique enough, that I believed no other guy was his equal.

Great question. I would say yes. Different is attractive in a sea of norms. Curiosity and potential. Not knowing what could happen becomes appealing
