I was out with a fellow -- perfect gentleman, doing everything very nicely on our first date. Towards the end of it he got sick -- guess the gin he was sipping didn't sit well with him. I spent a good bit of time in the washroom cleaning up and seemed fine when he came back to the table, but at the end of the date he wanted a kiss.

I just kissed him on the cheek and called it a night. Mind you, he would have gotten the kiss on the cheek regardless bc it was a first date and I was taught not to kiss on a first date. But in this case I don't think I would have kissed him anyway bc he'd just been sick...

Kissing when they’re sick could spread germs, and it’s more caring to show affection in other ways , like a warm hug, a gentle touch, or just checking in on them. Thoughtfulness matters more than the act itself.

I wouldn't care if it was the fiftieth date. Either\nHe has something going on and the gin just made it worse, catching a cold drink too much. Whatever it might be , i'm gonna fist pump them. Maybe give them a hug that I hate being sick, so I'm not taking any chances. Hell, no, I'm not giving them a kiss LO. L might slap them on the ass and say , okay , have a good night lol just teasing, but depends on how good I know them too. But no, I'm not gonna do that. I'm a grump when I'm sick. Growing up, my family always tried to be considerate of each other when someone got sick. We'd try our best to stay away from others while we were sick. We would make each other soup and cut fruits for each other. Growing up like that shaped my habits and belief that if you don't do this while you're sick, you're not a considerate or kind person.

That being said, if it's not contagious, like being drunk, I have no issue kissing them. Even if they puked, as long as they went to the washroom and cleaned themselves up, I'd have no issue kissing them.

I don't recall ever being in that position and I really don't know what I would do. If I was the one who had been sick and you didn't want to kiss me, I would be disappointed but would totally understand.

Definitely kiss on the cheek was the best choice. The kiss is an indicator for some of attraction and a measure of how well the date went. In this situation, who knows what came through his lips that he would want to place on yours.
