Does true attraction disappear once you find out someone is taken?

There was a guy I used to think was a gorgeous 10 out of 10, then I learned he was taken, and now he looks like an ugly 1 out of 10 to me. I believe a normal person is wired to lose attraction to people they have no chance with, which is why, average looking people might be more attracted to average looking people, than they are to very good looking people.

I don’t believe the physical attraction would really change a whole lot but I could see how the mind might put a wall up on the people that you consider untouchable and the mind make them less attractive in other ways I guess it could possibly make one see more flaws in the person that you might have been blind to in the beginning definitely could see that being possible

No, not for me, attraction can't just disappear, I'm very visual. If I like something or someone, my opinion won't change that easily.

Naturally, if she is taken, I know that my chances are even smaller than usual.
