Depends what your definition of scam is. I don't consider them a scam. But dating in the modern era is largely useless for a man. We as a society are operating off of largely archaic dating rules as a guy you either accept a 1% success rate or you wait for women to approach you. Since most guys do not want to endure that much rejection (who would? Certainly not women) the first option isn't good. And since a lot (arguably most) of women would not approach men they were interested in, you can see how this leaves dating largely broken. To make matters worse. Most people are selfish and narcissistic. So even if you meet a person who seems interested at first. A clock pretty much gets started from that moment till the decide you're not meeting their needs. So it's pretty much doomed to failure.

So what does this have to do with online dating? You have to treat it with the understanding of dating today. Dating is broken. And since online dating is the "drive through" of dating you have to treat it as such. First stop blaming yourself for lack of success. I don't care how much effort you've put in. You're only HALF the equation.

First off, you have to start treating online dating as ENTERTAINMENT. I promise you MOST women are. Most women on dating apps are just window shopping. That they have no intention of dating ANY guy on there (save for the rare unicorn that they will NEVER find on a dating app.😆).

Secondly IMHO you should NEVER message any woman first on a dating app. You have to understand the dynamics of dating are such that a woman can go to a bar with her friends, she can be approached by a guy, and regardless of the guys pitch, or her level of interest. She can always say, "I'm just here with my friends, I'm not looking to date anyone". Women love having the power of plausible deniability. Even if she is interested. She wants all the power. This is why women DESPISE online dating. It makes them feel like they're relinquishing the power. They can't say they're not interested in dating, because if so they wouldn't be on a dating site.😆 Why do you think so many women start their bio with "I'm just looking to see what's out there". She wants you to know from the start she don't need this.😆 Oh little tip, if a woman begins her bio that way, you can swipe left right there. It isn't going to get any better.😆

Here's the best tips for success on online dating.

    1. Pics are PARAMOUNT. That doesn't mean you have to look like a male model. It just means your pics tell a story. And if all your pics are selfies it says you have no friends and you might be a serial killer. Take a wide variety of pics out with your friends so she knows you have them. Take them out at the ballpark, camping, etc. Whatever showcases your personality. Have at least one of you in a suit just so she knows you own one and are capable of wearing it.😆 show your pet (s). You get the idea.

    2. When it comes to your bio LEAVE IT BLANK! I'm not kidding. Women are HIGHLY judgmental. You want to turn a woman off quickly? Open your mouth. The less you say the better. I know you have to say something eventually, and you will. But why f*** it before you have to. At least wait till the date before you sabotage it (in her mind).

    3. As I said NEVER message her first IMHO. Look at her profile. He'll, look at it a dozen times over the course of a couple months if you like. But do not message her. This does two things. 1. It tells her she worth a look. But 2. She also worth passing by. Good enough to look at, not good enough for anything else unless she wants to act. And some women this actually makes mad. Trust me, I've actually seen women get angry about this. Again as I said, women do not like not holding the power.

Dating apps have one major problem: greed.

    They are not scams
    But they are not free
If you don’t pay the piper, your profile will stay hidden and you won’t have any matches

Best not to put all your eggs in the dating apps basket
Have the apps and make the most of them
But if you wanna date for real you should look for real life meetings:
Public places, social events, friends of friends, coworkers (but that one is tricky)

You do a mix of all and you should be ok

Not for everyone. I met my boyfriend on one and I couldn't be happier. We just celebrated 3 years together.

It's not impossible to meet good people on an app, but I do realize it's a bit easier for women on there than it is for men. Maybe in that aspect you may see it being a waste of time.

While I wouldn't say they are exactly a scam and a waste of time for some, for the majority of people they would do better by meeting people in real life.

not sure they'd be a great tool to put too much faith in , if someone can't meet another single in real life than i don't see how there going to do that with an app. i suppose some are shy or lack confidence but still

they might be of some use if your in an area with a high % of single and you don't know anyone else but in a rural area there basically pointless as there is so few matches or other uses nearby , are you going to drive 2 hours to meet someone off an app?

    Yes sir 🫡
I'd say so. I still think it's cool when I've used Bumble 🟡 in the past, it's on or was on the New York Stock Exchange.

Anyways - having an ideal woman in ones dreams or meeting one in real life someday or through friends or even through asking Mother or Father for an arranged marriage or blind date sometimes even might be some people's idea of better than resorting to apps or websites where there's gays impersonating women, women who are junkies or robbers, etc

So πŸ˜… in conclusion there's lots of wisdom to say - forget the apps. And just live. And allow life to unfold organically πŸ˜‹πŸ™
