Friendzone is a pop culture trope when it's genuinely missing the point, or it reveals entitlement when it's used as a descriptor for social interactions.

Entitlement, in that case, is this idea that incarnating certain characteristics should get automatically rewarded.

Plus loyalty is going to be desirable for some people only, whereas many people view it as an extremely basic requirement for any kind of relation, friendship or more.

I don't know about that. Guys who are "husband material" tend to get snatched up pretty quickly even if they're only marginally so. Guys who are "boyfriend material" also tend to get snatched up at long spurts of time. A guy who would be a loyal FRIEND gets friendzoned... it's only natural.

Unless a woman is looking for some sort of arranged marriage, then loyalty doesn’t necessarily supersede overall compatibility, which you usually need in order to have a good, happy relationship.

There’s some truth, but it’s not that simple. Many “loyal guys” get friendzoned because: zero flirting, no sexual tension, over-texting, people-pleasing, and coming off more like a therapist than a potential boyfriend.

Women don’t reject loyalty; they reject lack of attraction.
Best combo: kind, loyal, but confidently romantic, not “safe brother energy.”

It took me a while to understand the sheer amount of toxic women that are out there in the dating pool. If I could write some giant message in the sky it would be this. Because this is yet another example of how so many men blame themselves foe a problem that is NOT theirs. Don't get me wrong I am not suggesting men are perfect, far from it. But you cannot fix a woman who is fundamentally broken and actively seeks toxicity. Stop trying! And while you're at it, stop blaming yourself. You are, and will ALWAYS be only 50% of equation. You could be the perfect guy (and I'll bet you're not). But you'll always fail if the other 50% is not looking for commitment, for a guy who's loyal, for a guy who's honest, for a guy who doesn't cheat, for a guy who doesn't verbally abuse or gaslight her. In other words, "if you're just too boring to her😆 understand there's a lot of bullets out there you're not being rejected, she's doing you a favor, smile and say thank you.

You need some level of romantic attraction to make a relationship work. Otherwise you’re just friends. And unfortunately a lot of girls around my age and younger tend to be mostly attracted to guys who aren’t terribly loyal (probably because they have so many options and don’t feel the urge to settle down with any of them till they get older. And even when they do settle down they tend to cheat.)

Hmm... I think friendzone is just a more palatable term for "I'm not interested in you as a partner because I'm not attracted to you in any real way". I don't have stats on how many women actually remain friends with men they reject romantically, but my guess is no more that 2%.
