After a breakup, is going ghost and unfollowing your ex really hurtful?

After a breakup to go ghost and immediately unfollow. They never reach out and just disappear. No way or mutual friend to find out how they are.

I feel like for a lot of people this is just the natural order of things post-breakup. Sure, some people keep each other added, or stay in communication, but I don’t see the point. How are we supposed to move on from one another and let go if we are still hanging on in some way? Also, I’m more of an “out of sight out of mind” type of person, I don’t need to be checking in on or keeping up with the guys social media activity, none of its of my concern anymore.

What do you mean "hurtful"? You've broken up. "Break" is usually painful. Cut them off completely. Don't pretend to be "cool" or "chill" or whatever with the other person. Just move on and away from them.
