Someone who cheats is not only emotionally sick, but also willingly immoral. Emotional sickness can be cured but lack of morality probably falls into the "people never change" category. If he has morals he would break up 5 minutes before cheating, no matter what sickness causes him to cheat.
I'd have some questions about the circumstances and why and how long ago it was and if I think they've changed since then. It's not an automatic no but it's a most likely no.
