Is it awkward to date someone who has the same name as one of your parents?

I just found out that the guy I'm currently crushing on has the same name as my dad and now I feel like my fantasies are ruined. Lmao.. It wouldn't be so awkward for ME if I ever actually dated this guy because I never called my dad by his name anyway, but my brother's also named after my dad and now that my dad has passed away, I feel like if I ever did date this guy it would be awkward for the rest of my family to call another man by my dad's name.

I know, I realize I'm thinking WAY too much into it because I'll probably never actually date this man, but I just want to know what other people think or would feel in this situation. Have you ever dated someone with the same name as one of your parents? Was it awkward or not a big deal at all?

If she had the same name as my father, that would be triple weird, as it is a purely male name. I am named after my grandfather so my father was OAW, Jr. and I am OAW, III. A girl with the same name as me? 100% weird.

If she had my mom's name, that would be weird as it is a name which is 100% out of fashion. Yeah, I couldn't date a girl with the same name as my mom.

I'm already married, so I don't know if my opinion matters here. My mother's name isn't super common, neither are either of my sisters' names, so I don't think I'd have to worry about it much. My brother-in-law and I have the same first name though.

yeah, or any fam member. I once hooked up with this guy and he had the same name as a cousin. We weren't close or anything so I thought it would be fine, but later that night 😳, it was hella awkward in bed

It really doesn't matter. I don't think of my parents by their names. Sharing the same as my sister would be weirder. One girl, who I have particular interest in, had the same name as my cousin, but I quickly got over it.
