Can you wear jeans and a white blouse/shirt to an interview?

The company has (in my opinion) rather business casual vibe over strictly formal. It's a manufacturing company, the positions (I'm interested in both) that I'm interested in is a buyer and a classic office worker who specializes in English connections.

I have no suit or anything super duper formal so I'm trying to find something at home that I can work with. I definitely won't go too casual but I'm worried of being over-dressed.

Do you think the white blouse/shirt and jeans could work? I'd probably go with heels, white ones as well to look a bit more polished.

Just an idea of what I have in mind.

I could also use some hair advice. I have very long somewhat straight hair, I don't know what to do with it for the interview. I don't feel very comfortable with my hair up but at the same time I'm not sure whether slightly curling it would not seem as trying too hard.

In the end I went with the classic white button down shirt, black jeans and white mules. I must say I kind of felt overdressed because many of the people there wore almost casual clothing, the interviewer himself wore dark jeans and a simple button up shirt.

Regardless of their dress code - this is an interview.
If you turned up wearing the outfit in the picture - I wouldn't be impressed and first impressions can count for a lot in interviews; if there are a lot of candidates you could be written off in theire head immediately if they think you haven't put in sufficient effort.

If you MUST wear jeans, they're probably better black and fitted. But it's really not hard to get a pair of smart trousers - charity shops always have them; you don't need to spend a lot but they're a good investment either way.

As for hair - just keep it tidy, up or down doesn't really matter, as long as it's clean, neat and tidy.

If you go with jeans, try to find a black pair, that are good fitting and do not drag or show your ankles. Have a good, non-scruffy pair of shoes. If you go with the blouse, make sure everything is buttoned appropriately, and appears professional.

It is best if you keep your hair down, well combed, although you might try a small braid if wanted

Employers look for stuff. People serious about getting a a job. Always dress for success. If the job is minimal wage, or not career-grade maybe slacks and blouse.

If you're going for anything else, I would wear a pants suit or professional dress suit. I know not cheap. But take the interview seriously.

I would ALWAYS dress smart to an interview. Even if everyone else were not, I still would. Suited and booted. It is by way of respect, and you can only ever make a 1st impression once with that company so make them not forget you for the right reasons.

Trust me. You made a good impression. When you go for an interview if you can stand out from the crowd for all the right reasons, you are 50% there to getting the job. Of course how you answer is also important.
Something else. If you get the job, and I hope you do. On your first day make sure you still dress smart. 2nd day is different, then you can start to wear the same as everyone else. You will have made your statement right from the off.

I am already looking up new blouses and shirts that could look great and be comfortable at the same time. Later on I want to go back to something that's more "me" but just like you say, I want to start off slowly.

You can't, that's not professional. Last week I had an interview for being a maid and I dress in a White button down shirt, fitted black skirt and black high heels. You need to look professional and polished no matter if the company have a casual business style or a more dressy one.

Never worry about being overdressed. Jeans to an interview is extremely risky. You said you don't have a suit but do you at least have a blazer? Or some non-jean slacks? This would be perfect:

I don't that's the problem : otherwise I'd go with those but thankfully it's not that strict here in my country unless you aim for the highest positions (manager, CEOs and such).

Definitely not. It's a formal interview, not lunch with friends. I worked in one of the recruitment offices for a while, with the Air Force. If someone came for interview like that, i wouldn't interview them and ask them to come correctly dressed. If you don't have a suit, or something more business class, borrow something. Smart casual is lesser than a proper getup but it shows an underlying you that prefers to dress well.

Darker colors are better for an interview. Its more of a "power" look. And, it's better to be overdressed, than under. Even if the dress code was casual, I'd go at minimum, business casual.
