Please answer the poll and #FeelFreeToList other details below if you’d like. Classes were only two days a week and my schools were all only 20 mins from home so I definitely chose to stay home. Dorms were like $4,000 a semester and not worth it in my opinion. I’m not a people person and would’ve hated rooming with a stranger. I would’ve like to be the resident dorm person but they’re often hated for being strict about curfew and co-ed stuff so I rather not. I dont regret staying home. I just regret how much of a waste college was lmao. Anyways, my school always threw events that anyone could attend, student or not, on campus or not. So no one ever truly knew who attended there. At my first school, I never attended a game but at my second, I attended at least 3 that whole year haha. Football and baseball games were just excuses to meet hot guys during tailgating anyways 😂 #FeelFreeToList #SchoolDaze

Yes, but I left for the wrong reasons.

My parents wanted me to go to a local community college at home that had no dorms so I would have had to drive back and forth and at the time I didn’t even have a car and I still had a major phobia of driving.

A girl I was in a relationship with at the time who lived 3 hours away recommended a community college with dorms in her town and me being a total love struck dumbass did everything I could to persuade my parents to allow me to go. I applied without their consent and got in. My dad told me he wouldn’t let me go but when I asked him if he would have done the exact same thing I did when he was my age he folded and said yes so he let me go.

Come to find out that a week or two after I started classes, my at the time girlfriend started to cheat on me with a dude in her construction class. (She was still a senior in high school.) when I confronted her and broke up with her I was completely alone save for a few friends who led to a decent friend group. But I had no car and had to completely rely on my friends.

I lived near detroit growing up. When college time came around I moved out to Ann Arbor, MI even tho I attended a school roughly 30 mins away. My university (Lawrence Tech) does have all that dorm and other bs but quite frankly the parties are nothing compared to the ones in Ann Arbor. So I ended up renting a house in Ann Arbor and driving those 30mins every other day. Like you, I really did it more to get around the girls. But it was a pain in the ass to live there truth be told, no garage so I had to pay monthly to park my slingshot inside a parking structure. I drive a lifted truck as my daily and its was a struggle to park in the driveway, hard to drive it around the city. But once again hella girls so ig the struggle were worth it. But like you i regret spending that amount of money on uni, shit was a waste of resources lol

I live in a huge city, but always joke that I never left the circle. My high school and pre-school were both about 5 minutes away from my university, and 30 minutes away from my house, but my parents really wanted me to have the full college experience, and so did I, so I lived on campus. I had ups and downs with various roommates for sure, and did better enjoy living in a single my senior year, but I would not have changed my experiences at all. There were so many times that I rolled out of bed and was literally in class 5 minutes later. The literal convenience of that and being able to study on campus no distractions when finals rolled around. I met a few life long friends who also lived in the dorms, got to date my high school boyfriend a little while longer (before we broke up) as adults not constrained by parent rules and restrictions, and I just had a good time. Our dorm wasn't all that strict either. The only cardinal rules were no open flames, no underage drinking, no drugs, but other than that, they didn't bother you and there certainly was no curfew.

Moved away to a different city in a different state. Settled for a dorm room first but didn't find it appealing. Moved out of the dorm in less than a year to an apartment nearby. Worked 2 jobs, including working for my Landlord. I was also investing in stocks while living in that apartment during the remaining college years. I struck a deal with my Landlord to buy his small 22-unit building for myself as my graduation gift and as my first full-time business. He later worked for me, continuing on as the live-in Manager 'til he died of old age.

After I consolidated my investment assets, employment earnings and business profits, I fully-paid that apartment building in only 10 years. Long before my Manager died, he proudly saw the day I paid off my mortgage for that property. We had mutual genuine respect for each other and treated each other well, like family. I soon found out after his death that he named me as the sole beneficiary of his life insurance. I named one of the properties I bought after him.

Yes, my college was in another state. I stayed in a dorm. In my 1st year I had two roommates, one was very introverted, busy with his work, other one I had no idea when he came to room and when he went out.
Next year I had four roommates. And the adjacent room had 5 more guys, most of them were extroverts and eventually my room became a hot spot. In the initial phase it was okay, people used to stay around and all, but then it became irrigating. I fucking hated it. I used to wake very first in the morning, and leave the room and only come back for something things like books/stationary/etc otherwise didn't return back until late night when half of them were asleep. I spent most of my time either roaming around or with other people who were not as loud as my roommates.

Although now I miss those days, once in a while that sound of extroverts is necessary, otherwise one starts feeling depressed 😂

While in high school I was accepted into an academic program for students with a 3.7gpa. So from freshmen to senior year I attended cal Lutheran University every summer. I wasn't sure what I wanted to be so I just took mediocre courses which I regret. I wish I knew what I wanted to do because I could've knocked those classes out right then and there.

Stayed home for the LPN program

RN program- by this time I had moved to NC because my family are a bunch of crabs in a barrel and don't want to do anything with their lives so I moved for better opportunities and here's when I entered the RN program. Then chose a hospital in Florida I wanted to intern which was Baptist hospital. I just wanted to travel so I chose a distant hospital to intern.

Bruh ! Bruuuuuh 😂 leme tell u why i could not vote any... id give my vote here... I WENT TO UNIVERSITY IN DIFFERENT CITY BUT STAYED AT HOME 😂 im actually laughing at this... so gettin outta my city n reaching that city where my campus was and then entering the university all this would take 20 to 35 minutes on average depending on transport and traffic... this is also cuz we live near to exit of city so dont have to cover the distance through whole city... oof i feel like sharing pics of campus

I went off to college and was like 2 1/2 hours away from home. I went to college in north Alabama (I'm originally from south Alabama). I did miss home a good bit cause you know north Alabama is different from south Alabama. But i enjoyed being away met a lot of interesting people

Went to college 3 hours away right out of high school. Stayed in the dorms my first year. Went home the summer after then moved back to start my second year.

Lived off-campus the rest of my time in school and never went back for summers. I just stayed in the city. I'm actually still living here lol

I went to a college near my hometown and dormed almost every semester. There was one semester where I started dorming but then left my dorm in the middle of the semester when covid started. I stayed at home for the rest of the semester (classes were online on zoom). There was also another semester when I commuted to my school (also during covid). But I stayed on campus for my last semester of college.

I lived at home. The trip to my community college was an easy drive on city streets. When I transferred to a state college I had to start driving on the freeway and time spent in traffic v/studying began adding up. When I entered grad school the university was, under ideal conditions, a 45-minute drive each way. The reality was my spending 10 to 12 hours per week of valuable study time commuting.

I went to a university both Bachelor and Master in the city where i was born that is near where i live. I have always lived at home with my parents as is normal here in Italy. The same happened for the PhD, where I was studying in Milan and commuting. In Milan the cost of living was too high, I couldn't afford a rent with a doctoral scholarship and at the same time eat. I only lived in the periods I spent in Sweden and the Netherlands.

I haven't went yet but there are good colleges in my city only. Like it is a 15 min drive to there from my home. If I am going to hostel to stay then I will just go out of this city. There is no way my mom is allowing me to study out of the state as she can't keep an eye on me. She is going to visit me in weekends. But if I did very good then who knows my dad may convince my mom.

I cycled for half an hour, took the bus, then the train, then another bus and some walking, in total it was about 1.5-2 hours to get there every day. We had full days of work every weekday.
