Would you (yourself) quit or suck it up?

#FeelFreeToList #SuckItUpButtercup
For now, my best advice would be for you to stick it out, you at least have a job of some kind with a good income if nothing else. However, this should not stop you from looking for a better job elsewhere. You said that you may want to move to another state. Well, now is a good time to be looking to see what opportunities are available where you wish to move. When researching jobs you will also want to check out the cost of living, things like rent or cost of a home if you wish to buy, state income tax rates, there are I think there are seven states that do not have an income tax including Texas and Wyoming. Another thing to consider could be recreational activities and other things you enjoy doing on your free time. For now at least, try to save as much of the money you already have saved for the move because it can be costly, usually 1st and last months rent plus deposit and just the cost to make the move, travel, meals and hotels if needed. Any extra you may have saved try to put it in a retirement account and continue to add to it as you progress in your job advancement. Wishing you good luck in the future and if you get a chance, DM me once you decide when and where you move. Take care & smile.
Yea i have the moving costs covered but i just haven't found an apartment out of state since im nervous to get on a plane of germs rn
Honestly I always advise people that they should be constantly on the hunt for the next best job. So this sounds really boring but its free money, no I would not just quite. But I would take advantage for the time I had to be looking for better opportunities.
Honestly this sounds like a business that is getting ready to go under, but are trying to maintain staff to hold its market value in a feebler attempt get a better deal on the sell off.
The business has been around a good while but someone else just tookover so tehyre transitioning everyone to the new owner and that means new credentials and its apparently taking 30 days of doing nothing to get them
Yea i partially think they want to downsize because a lot of people have quit because of the extensive training causing them to drive hours and hours to work. We’re used to working from home in different cities of the state. The in person training was supposed to be 2 weeks but its turning into a month
I rather not get fired because that will ruin the experience i gathered from this job for my resume. I dont really care about unemployment. I was unemployed 7 months after my first job. I just couldnt shop for fun thats it. I still had savings to pay bills
Oh i know but my job doesn't lay anyone off. They just hope people quit. Thats their way of downsizing. Making us miserable til we leave on our own
I would start applying for jobs. You can't eat on your breaks that illegal. There are labor laws revolving around how many breaks and for how long per hrs you work. Honeslty I would apply for new jobs but also remember your getting paid and work not fun and your an adult. You can eat and be on your phone on break. You can drink water whenever if you need to just do it they can't fire you for it or sue. You can't eat or be on your phone if your not on a break that common sense. If you have no other income you better find something else first. I think you hate your job and the health thing an excuse. You can sanitize whatever bring wipes, wear gloves, bring sanitizer you can avoid getting sick. Being an adult is thinking outside the box and makind due until you find a replacement job. Life hard.
We can eat on breaks just not outside of those 15 min breaks. And i do santize with wipes buti i want to spray actual lysol and stuff and they won't allow it yet people keep passing by your desk coughing and sneezing without a mask
Your work condition doesn't sound bad. you're getting paid to do nothing. Sounds like you just don't want to work there anymore so you're using covid as a crutch. Anyone can catch covid anywhere at anytime. Just mask up. You mention you hang out with family and have a main. You're more at risk of catching covid from them than at work.
Second, it depends what you want to do with your life. If you don't plan to go to college to further your education stay where you are. If you plan to further your education which means you want growth then I'd move on.
Do you have a clear plan for a future? Or is this the end all be all? It just sounds like you're just working but not towards anything like (management, administration, buying a house, college etc). There's no goals behind your decision
Im done with college. Getting a bachelors in 2017 was a waste enough for my major. Yes i mask up but this plave has no janitor and most walk around maskless coughing and sneezing everywhere. I dont fear catching covid but i dont like people coughin on me or in my personal space in general. I haven't wanted to work here since after the first few months of being here but I've been here almost 4 years because i haven't forced myself to move states yet. The only growth i seek is a job that i dont hate. Im working just to work. I no longer care to go up the ladder here. They offered me management my first year here but i wouldn't dare want to be on salary so that they work me nonstop. Plus management has to be at the office 6 days a week, 12 hours a day. They never get to work from home. My overall goal has always been to work towards supporting my future kids and building a house. Other than that, i dont care about money
Ok that's pretty much my point. You don't want to work there and it shows. That's not necessarily a bad thing you've just never mentioned wanting to advance at your job or if there is room for growth which tells me this isn't somewhere you want to commit. So do you know what you want to do in the future? You don't have kids or a family yet. So putting that all aside and just thinking about you. What do you want for just you?
Depends what you got your bachelor's in honesty. What did you get itin?
As far as you I'd just quit. From reading your post your not happy. Would I quit, no.
Ghe only thing i want is to move states but it's hard forcing myself to do so. Apartment hunting is not an easy process. I did it successfully in 2020 before the pandemic hit. Then they called me back askin was i coming that May. Like no i wasn't coming anymore and everything was shut down. So i just haven't tried again since. Like prices have skyrocketed and i just haven't made time to travel in person to search for new options since the others are no longer vacant. My major was business admin. Dont ask why i chose that. Lmao i hate that major. But i foujd out about my schools interior design program a year late and didn't care to switch and mess ip my scholarship. I wouldve had to py for a 5th year so i just stayed in business since my scholarship was 4 years. I want to quit but i fear how long the jobhunt takes. Last time i up and quit a job, it took 7 months before people reached out witht job offers that werent retail/fast food. I tefuse to go back to a sporting good store. I've been working this office stuff for almost 4 years
Business admin isn't a bad major at all. All the people at my job who have business admin degrees are doing the following jobs: working as health care recruiters, schedulers, directors, managers, upstairs in corporate and insurance, Human resources, scolarships department. I'm not sure why you're not utilizing it. Since you know this company I'd take full advantage and go into supervisory or management where you'd have the salary and perks. As far as a family I'd put those thoughts on the backburner until you meet the one to where these things are discussed such as kids and a home. On top of that the man will be providing those things so for now just focus on what you want for you. From what I'm reading it sounds like you haven't found your passion and don't know which route to go. Find an area you like and then work your way up from there.
I wouldn't mind doing scheduling or human resources but here the human resource people dont wanna hire. They want you specifically majoring in human resources and the connect to get the job is a racist old professor at my uni. So i know i won't be workin human resources here. Yea i dont have a passion but i also dont need the dude. I've saved for invitro as a backup plan because most dudes dont want a kid yet and if they do, they dont want commitment yet but want offspring. A guy is not holding me back. Im referring to leaving behind actual fam in this state like my mom/sis/grandparents. Thats the only thing holding me back cause they dont like to travel and i personally dont feel okay riding a plane often with all these germs. Now if i could get into human resources at my current job, i’d take that but you have to be supervisor/team lead for so long first and im not doing that bexause they hqve to work in this dirty office daily, 6 days a week for 12 hours. I rather find another type job outside this job. But so fsr no success with that
Desi girl what do you want for yourself? Ask yourself that starting with 1. Why do you want to move out of state in the first place?
2. How much money do I need to move out of state and live in a well established neighborhood?
3. stop making so many excuses. Germs on a plane? Germs are everywhere. Wear a mask and get some hand sanitizer.
4. Another excuse the office is dirty. Desi, what do you do when your room is dirty? You clean it. Do you want to a higher position or not?
5. If they don't like to travel o well so sad goodbye to them. You have a life to live and can't hold yourself back due to their fears. My family is the same way but I guarantee you if they gotta hop on a plane they would if it were important to them. They say when you gone see us? I said when y'all gone see me? Like they can hop they scary asses on a plane but choose not to so I'll fly out when it works for me
It's like you're talking yourself out of opportunities
I just want to be a mom. I literally only work to ensure i can provide for my future kid. And then of course to build a house some day. Its gonna cost 300k+ so im saving for both. The money to move out of state and get a place has been covered since 2020. I just can't bring myself to up and leave my fam. I hate that cause theyre toxic af but i help them withh bills and kinda hate to leave them. And yes i want a higher position but not at this company. I hate the people and place overall. The point of working there was just to boost my resume for when i move states. And i won't let my fam hold me back too much longer. I asked my cousin to move when i move but she already moved in December and is waitin on me
And please don't think I'm being harsh with you at all because these are the exact same questions I had to ask myself before making any life changing decisions. Write this stuff down with pros and cons. For example,
Pros:
If you live close to family and have a child they can help you babysit
Con: they're toxic
Pros:
If I move I can start over fresh
Con
I won't have family support.
Yea i dont think you're being harsh. Im holdin myself back because my fam won't push me. I want them to just drop me off in NC and they won't because they dont wanna lose their walking atm machine. Im routine and sticking to what i know. I know it’ll come down to me just booking the flight and going. I did it in 2020 bt haven't done it sense. Im gonna have a talk with my mom once I've scored a new out of state apartment
It was easy for me to move because I had a main who did all the work. The military paid for our move and we were engaged. But you going by yourself I understand that's a big decision. But why NC? And why do you want to move?
NC has gone up in price that's why I mentioned you getting a higher up position at your job. That way you can transfer your job here and get paid NC salary which I think is more than Mississippi.
You'll be fine. And when you move to NC if it's charlotte go towards south end or south of uptown. Those are good upscale neighborhoods safe for a single woman and nice outdoor spots
Yea i went all over charlotte alone several times and felt safe. The only thing sucky about that city is the traffic. Almost more wrecks then ATL
What part of Charlotte were you in? I haven't experience traffic as bad as atl.
I took the tram for the first half and that takes you all the way through the city. But i was in traffic when using uber for the other days. Also, while in the hotel, you can hear all the firetrucks every hour from a new wreck. It was nuts. I was staying in University City but the apartments were in different areas like Noda, University City, Uptown, Dilworth and Tryon Hills. But i love how their train tram takes yoo through all those places
Uptown , dilworth ans Noda are nice. Even parts of tryon. University is nice it's college town.
Ye initially wanted to live in a college town like i am now but charlotte overall is a college town because they had like 15 schools. And all the guys were cute and friendly. Soon as i arrived downtown by the stadium, guys were walking and talking with me as if we’d known eachother for years. And i loved that they were black with green eyes.
@DizzyDesii gurl I'm sorry but tell me why the family with the girl in the hospital the momma text me a picture 10pm at night of her daughter in a hospital bed as if I give a fuck?
Lmao just tell her to please not text after shift because you have other clients (or need to sleep)
She sends me a pic of the kid with bolts and screws in they head lying in bed. The text says: She laid on her back tonight... I haven't seen this in a long time.
I honestly don't get why she's texting me updates like "she's sitting up today, she rolled over today, she ate today ". I haven't called nor text her about that child. She's just randomly sending stuff.
My response to her 10pm text initially was:I'm confused was this message sent earlier today? It's 10pm at night. I'm not sure why I'm getting messages at 10pm?
Was that enough to get her to know like wtf
@DizzyDesii the mom sends me this now:I meant to schedule the message to go out this morning. My mistake... she has been keeping us busy at the hospital. I don't know what day it is.
The bitch know she lying
Ok so back to you @DizzyDesii does your job transfer? And can you stay work from home? If so do that and airbnb in whatever part of NC you want to live in for a month. Just to see if you can handle living away from family. Then after that month is up return back home. Girl you can always inbox me or Facebook me and I can show you around NC. You're normal so I wouldn't mind giving you my Facebook. Or if you want to message me on here when you need help while in NC I can help you. I've done this for a lady I met at a church. She's from NY I helped you get settled into her apartment here. We still keep in touch
She def lyin 🤣 and my job used to transfer to NC but now its only AL and Maine. Either way, i refuse to work for them again after i quit and i surely dont want another government job with they crooked ass. Im already used to NC. I was there for like a week but i know enough about it. Its just a larger version of my city with better pay. I need to try to get to FL to see what Tallahassee is about. It may be a better start since its like 3-5 hours from home while NC is 9-11 hours. I may have to start slow. Anf then move further away later. But i def dont want to live in Dallas or ATL anymore. Georgia is still an option but I don't know what city. Macon looks okay. But yea my job doesn't want you living in another state because they call us to the office at random times and if you dont show u get in trouble. I work with people who drive 2-5 hours to work on the random days theyve made us show up for training. Its so frustrating because my job is last minute on everything. They never keep their word. The main office is in Maine but they have a branch here for when they call us to train people. But right now no one can train because we’re waiting on updated background checks and thats dumb because theybstill have our fingerprints and stuff from years ago. ain't shit changed. But yea they got us up here again today just sittin, staring at eachother on cam. Nobody talkin. We just sit for 8 hours lookin at eachother until we fall asleep. Training usually lasts 2 weeks but they said this one mag be 30 days since we dont have our new credentials.
@DizzyDesii that bitch is fucking lying. Should I say something to her or just ignore her ass? Because I don't think you can set timers for s text message. She knew I was about to get in her ass about texting me at 10pm like she's lost her mf mind.
Moving out of state: Florida is a good start then. Why do you want to move? Do you have to?
Job: maybe start looking for other jobs before you quit your current
Just mute her and unmute her on days you work for her. The goal has always been to find a job before quitting but after 3 years of not coming across anything other than retail, im tempted to just quit. And yes i need to move because my state is a retirement state. We have no job opportunities nor attractions to enjoy. Our beach is like grayish brown and unswimmable due to bacteria. there's nothing here but casinos and crops. The food is not tasty nor healthy. At least FL/TX/GA/NC got things to do. But im not tryna live in a super popular city because of crazy high taxes. I just want a city that feels like home and i think Macon, Tallahassee, Houston, Raleigh or Charlotte do feel like home. But ATl and houston were too dangerous. Raleigh is nice but too spaced out and feels like the country side. I want to live in town so it comes down to charlotte which is 10 hours away or Macon or Tallahassee which is 3-5 hours away. I need to check out Savannah GA
Oh hell nawl. Why your family wanna stay there? You're too young for that. Yeah I'd leave.
My fam is more routine than me. They dont even like to travel out of the city/state. I just got them to travel out the city for the first time last year. And that's sad cause my grandma in her 60s, my grandpa in his 70s, my mom in her 40s so they are too too used to going nowhere. They won't even change their jobs. Theyve worked their same jobs since early 20s and i refuse to be that. So i will eventually up and leave but I don't know when. It’ll certainly be before i reach 30. It really needs to be come next year. I have to attend a wedding in NC next year so i need to have more apartment hunting stuff set by then. Im tryna get my fam to fly out to Vegas this summer but they dont even want to do that and theyre casino addicts. So tea its just hard to get them to go anywhere and thats rubbed off on me. But i still want to go a few places. I've been trying to get to Florida forever and almost made it in 2017. But yep still haven't been to Orlando/Miami/Tampa and im just not going during this pandemic. Those people down there are careless af and everyone i know whos visited FL since 2020 has come back sick. So i’ll go elsewhere but FL just have to wait
So for the wedding in NC do you know the people well? If so you have people here. Girl omg! Sounds like my family that's why I bounced. My cousins left too cause they were like ain't shit here and they ain't trying do shit
I had no one in NC initially. But i told my cousin about my trip to chsrlotte/raleigh in 2020. She was intrigued and so she got engaged last year and moved there last month. Now she wants me to hurry and move there. But we won't be in the same city. It’ll be 2 hours apart which is fine since i really dont like her
Girl!!! That's your green light!! You have a cousin girl you better go lol. You can always go back to your home if you don't like NC you're not stuck. You're young you got options. You can live in NC for a year and if you want to move closer to fame move to Florida if you still miss them go back home🤷🏾♀️. What part of NC is she in?
Thats was always the goal to move away from home at least 2 years. But im a bit more comfortable if i move to GA or FL since they less than 5 hours and then if i like it, i can try NC thats 10 hours. My cousin went to raleigh because she likes to drive. She already makin bank too
This isn't fair to you. You're trying to accommodate them while they prefer to stay stuck in a bubble. That's on them live your life. My family is the same. I told them they need to learn to catch a plane. Yeah start looking up roommates or airbnb and jobs. There's roommates. com or use college. Take some mediocre shit so you can stay in their dorms and network
You got options. You're not stuck in Florida, You're not stuck in GA and you're not stuck in NC. Bounce around until you find what you like.
^ raleigh date night
Post about moving so that you can get feedback. I turned off my invites bc people keep inviting me to post like, "should I shave my legs? How do I look? Am I gay?"💀 weird
Lmao I refuse to have a roommate. I didn't like living with family and dont want to live with anyone else unless im engaged. Im not afraid to live alone. But i am afraid to just up and leave. So in tryna plan out when but stuff keep sidetracking. Like my fam was mentally ready for me to be out if the state May 2020 but when the pandemic hit March 2020, we all got a bit freaked out and just cancelled everything. We already turtles in a shell. So the fact i was almost out and then that happened, i eased back in and just haven't reached that comfort level again yet. But it’ll come
I dont like the idea of roommates either but then again you don't know how much it's going to cost to move, get furniture, rent , what your new job pay will be etc. Unless you're set for all that then I wouldn't worry about a roommate.
No i prepared for all of that in 2019 an thats why i went apartment hunting in 2020. I know prices have jumped a bit but im not worried about costs. The only hard part is getting up and going
@DizzyDesii are they serious rn? You calling in , in advance was good because then they have time to find coverage? And yeah he should've checked his email. The company I fill in for does that shit. Oh I didn't get the email. Well bitch I sent it and have a copy of it so too bad
@DizzyDesii I see why you want to leave. They don't pay attention
They dont pay attention at all. And nah they dont look for coverage. They make you make up the work another day

Giirl that sounds hella horrible! Sitting there for 8 h and wasting lifetime... I mean getting paid for jobs where you do nearly nothing is great, cause you working and not investing much effort and still getting paid and still doing at least something but sitting around sounds horrible.
Why do they have no work for you guys?
Are they going back to doing this nonsense for home office? If yes, then I would wait that out.
Other then that you shouldn't quit without having something else first tho or at least quit when you know you could find something new in a short time
Personally I'm thinking about quitting my job too but I can't really find something else that would be better and thanks to corona I can't just go out and do waitress stuff (I would totally do that, if i could) ... so I'm trying to stick through
Training was supposed to be 2 weeks but extended to 30 days of doing nothing yet still having to come up there to just sit. I dont like sitting in unsanitary places daily like that
I pretty sure most people think of quitting there job at least once in there life. My job as a security guard is no picnic I get cursed and yelled at because a site I work at was unsastifactory to them, get called rent a cop or different insult and can get quite boring. We get 10 or 15 minute breaks but if we are just hanging out somewhere we can give ourselves breaks ante we want as long we do our job. I have a lot times to quit but sometimes by job pays me back giving a easy job with good pay. You just gotta take the good with the bad and as longs it pays the bill I willing to work.
Yea im only dealing til i move states
You suggest you suck it up. Yumyum 🙃 Because during covid it might be harder to find work, you have a job, it's best to hold on to it for now, but that should not stop you from finding a new more interesting job when you have free time. I would also talk to my boss to work from home to address this issue, there is Skype, teams or other programs. All you need is to be connected to the network, you should be able to do that from home.
Yes its hard finding new jobs during covid times. And the boss is aware of the issues. she's the one making us come up here. She sits and monitors us and yells STOP TALKING. she's so rude
Lol they monitor our computers and make us share screens. I can't even play spider solitaire 😂
Lol we are on cam with a boss constantly walking by. Its hard enough sneaking to pullout my phone haha
I would still pull out my phone, because I've done RUN OUT OF OPTIONS. You sit there for 8 hours only to use one for the actual job; That's an error on their part, and they should fix it or deal with it. You're not distracting the others from doing their job, because they don't have anything to do either. You keep yourself occupied and 'sharp that way so you can focus better once the training actually starts'.
I'd say getting paid to do nothing is one of the least bad things that can happen to you in a job and I don't think covid is that serious of a risk for you so I'd stick with the job. If you say there's nothing out there for you, you don't have that much of a choice.
How is covid not a serious risk? The people are often maskless and coughing around. The place doesn't even have a janitor to clean
I've likely had it and i dont want that pain again
So if you're a full time worker, by law you are supposed to be getting a lunch. Not just 15 minute breaks. Your job is such bullshit and I've said this to you before lol. They're essentially paying your for doing nothing but then they also force you to do a bunch of other nonsense. If you can afford to quit then I'd say quit. If not, just keep looking and praying.
I can afford to quit but part of the prob is my moms bills. It’ll suck up my savings tryna pay that until i find a job. Last time i quit without a backup job, i was jobless 7 months. I can afford to be jobless 2 years if its just me but when having to pay others bills, that would eat my stuff up
You know what ima say lol
Depends on if you have responsibilities or not. If you do, suck it up and go on the job search. Some times it's easier to find a job when you have one.
If you don't, fuck that job. And commit to the job search.
Bottom line, it depends on if you need the money now or can you go without it.
I dont need the money but i dont want to risk being unemployed for almost a year again because i couldnt find a non-retai/food job
In all honesty it's hard for me to relate since having a set goal with an education to reach it doesn't lend itself for temporary vocations more so than some extra gig. This seems to be a question of being content or not to me, and that's something only you know. Can you still do this job and be content or are you doing it to save up for something or other?
Im just working to say i worked.. I have money saved but it doesn't hurt to keep saving until i move states
Okay, so I guess it's about whether or not you feel like you want a year or two more before you move states?
I definitely dont eant to wait that long bt it is a struggle to force myself to leave my fam behind bexause the state is 10 hour drive away
Alright! Yeah I understand.
Your getting paid to do nothing most of the day. Suck it up and just keep up the job search. Don't quit until you have something lined up. That does sound like a really boring job. Especially since you can do anything while you wait. Your bosses suck. What do you do if you don't mind me asking?
Financial advising. And we dont often do nothing but our 2 week training us turning into 30 days of doing nothing until we get our new usernames and passwords
i say if you hate your job quite! You'll always be unhappy if you hate it there, if you love the job you're doing there's rarely any down fall to it. I've just quite my job cause i dislike it and find it boring and landed my dream job!! Was so worth quitting :)
I won't quit its still gettin u money n there are no better job available atm so yea... and as far as safety is concerned, u can ask em to do a few things around where u sit... and u can always keep sanitizer w you i guess
I keep sanitizer and wet wipes but its a large office with no janitor. They dont like us bringing lysol to spray but germs stay floating around cause the people are maskless when theyre not supposed to be and thy cough and sneeze everywhere
Ah yea thats not nice if its whole bunch of people at some place n not respecting others n being like how they be at home... that definitely makes difference... is there a way that u can at least get your little surroundings taken care of after u be a bit strict bout it? Like at least where u be in there and a bit on left n right so your area is clean at least
We all have assigned seating one desk/cubicle apart from eachother. You still dont get personal space because anyone can walk down your aisle sneezing
Im workin atm I don't know
Its still a horrible job in general. I hate working with people and people are rude
And this job give u chance to work from home for most times... so while training if there is bad people n environment u can somehow deal w it n let the time pass n be back to working from home cuz for other job u might need to a lot extra effort cuz that doesn't seem easy in your city either
At home is where i deal with rude people. Thats where we work with rude people when not training. The only perk of being at home is being in a familiar environment. We still csnt do what we want when we want. We can't set our own breaks and we can't eat while working. The job is horrible all together.
Lay around until I find a job. But im tykng not to do that since last time it took 7 months to find a job
If it's about paying bills I will suck it up. They don't allow use of mobile phones but still I could get entertained by a book or something. I would definitely carry a book with me to keep myself busy.
We're not supposed to take anything inside but i’ll try to find a wordsearch book
Stick with it. It isn't your problem if they are that incomepetent they can afford to pay you for doing nothing. Still, keep looking for other work. Ya never know what's round the corner.
Yea there's nothing here aside from tetail and fast food and i really don't want to do either of those. And yes they can pay us to do nothing bt being stuck in a seat for 8 hours doing nothing is not fun. My eyes are strained staring at 30 sleeping people on cam. And if we get off cam, we get emails fussing at us asking why we’re not under surveillance. This is literally virtual prison
Why not call their bluff, if you can. Maybe they are just waiting for someone to stand up and say "What the fuck's going on?" I know there is a risk of losing your job, but it does sound awful!
No someone actually said it on the video recording mic last week and thats part of why we’re back at the office 😂 They had a townhall meeting of using profanity when we’re supposed to be professional. That person got suspended. The rest of us got placed back on site for not acting professional at home
Of course, I was in a similar position. My boyfriend and I had research positions in Netherlands. It was going in the wrong direction we wanted to go, so we both resigned. I am back in UK as a waitress in a busy cafe. My boyfriend works in a car wash. Luckily, as soon as covid restrictions permit, we will go to new positions also in Netherlands. Hopefully in next 2 to 3 weeks.
Hopefully you et out of that soon. The thought of working in food or retail again is why I've dealt with this office’s BS. I do not want to go back to days of crying in a dressing room, begging my boyfriend to come pick me up so i can quit wt the sporting good store 🤣
I hope you resolve this soon. It really sounds awful.
That's a shitty situation for sure!!
It's nice to get paid to do nothing but at the same time not worth your health unless they are going to pay you for Covid sick days and any hospital bills.
If we miss any day of training, covid or not, we get fired. And thad ridiculous because someone had covid 2 weeks ago and thats why they sent us home a few weeks. But now theyve brought us back just because people at home had their kids in their lap or were watching tv or had their cams off. They did that because we haven't done ANYTHING since jan 27 waitin on these shitty background check renewals. Like why tf are they renewing this. We’ve worked for them for 4 years
What would happen if your background check renewal was finished but no one else's was done yet?
Thats the thing, galf of the classes backgrounds are done but they still dont have their credentials. I emailed asking about mine and the lady said she's away from the office on vacation. Like wtf! Also, some guy coworkers have been going outside smoking weed and they come back in smelling like booty. Im sicka this shit lmao
It's tough for me to say that you should leave since you have been working there for 4 years. I have worked at my job for a little over 4 years and it's tough to try and say goodbye to job security.
The goal was never to stay here. I just wanted 2-5 years of experience on my resume until i moved states
Then in that case, you should start looking to move states. When you are ready THEN quit your job.
I've been ready to move states. I was almost out in 2020. But the pandemic hit that April and i was supposed to move that May. I haven't brought myself to get on a plane ever since
Do you have a place to stay in the new state yet? And can you drive there instead?
I have the money for a new place but its not easy finding a place unless you're there. When i went there in 2020, i went apartment hunting and saw nice places but im sure theyve changed and theyve for sure been taken up since the pandemic hit. I've been lazy on oit of state apartment hunting a second time around. I dont like driving so wherever i endup, i’ll like uber everywhere or take the new train thingy. But i bet its a lot of germs on public trams rn
Yeah it's not easy to apartment hunt while you are out of state. But it's best to do that so you can actually quit your job.
I only mentioned driving so that way you can get to the new state without using a plane or a bus.
I dont even have much i want to take with me at this point. Im gonna leave behind 90% of my furniture and just take all my collectors items and buy a new bedset and stuff. I guess family is somewhat keeping me here. They dont like to travel for more than 3 hours and im nervous cause my new home would be 10 hours north
What is the upside to moving to the new state?
More job opportunities. Twice the pay. More attractions and new eyecandy lol. But im a routine person so leaving the things behind that im used to is hard
I have lived in the same city all my life. So yeah, leaving your routines and even comfort zone is very tough to think about. You kind of just want to make sure that you feel the same way about the new place as you do about the old one before you even move.
The point was i wanted at least one person to move to the other state so that i’d get the guts to move. My cousin surprisingly made he move last month and is waitin for me to come although we’ll be in cities 2 hours apart. I think its just my family and myself holding me back
In a perfect world, what is the first step you would need to take to make that move?
I just need my fam to pick me up and drop me off. But they say discouraging things because they want me to stay and pay on their bills
Sounds more like you could use a friend to drag you to the new state instead. 😢😢
Lmao my cousin would come get me if i had already landed a new apartment
That is what you need to focus on.
Can you have your cousin be your eyes in the city for you?
Considering she's paying $1500 a month for s dump, no. I found lovely places back then for less than that. She didn't even try. She just took whatever so that she could move immediately
I kind of agree with how she did it because it was more important for her to get out of there than where she was actually at.
I would quit unless I really need the money. That sounds like a really horrible and useless job. I don't know how I would survive because I'd be bored to death. It's like being in a mental prison.
We often do work with very rude people but while training for 30 days we have nothing to do. Its bad either way
@DizzyDesii That's unfortunate. I hope you find a better job.
I think it's not that bad, but if your health is at risk I say you quit. But before thta, try finding a new job. Once you find a new job, quit the last one.
It depends on how much you are being paid. If you are getting a lot of money: suck it up. But if you’re not getting a good payment then quit
Its good pay but money isn't everything
Yea i only needed the job to boost my resume but at this point, I have enough experience. Im just scared to quit because when i quit my last job, i was jobless for 7 months before i finally started getting interviews again. I can lose a lot of savings to bills if i have to go long unemployed again
I've tried for 3 years. My state offers nothing aside from retail/fast food. I got lucky to find this current out of state job im doing. Its hard searching for other out of state jobs because they expect you to travel there for training for at least a month
No but i’ll certainly sneak and take a word search book tomorrow
Don’t stay. If your employer isn’t treating you well while there is a shortage of employees, then it will get much worse. Now is a great time to find a new job. Do it soon or you will get stuck where you are when the job market slows down.
The job market has been slow in my state which is why i have to move states if i want to find better
I would quit in a heartbeat. I have no problem quitting a job that I’m not satisfied with. I can’t be one of those people that work 20+ years at a place I hate.
Oh i def won't be there longer than 5 yesrs. I just gotta force myself to move states
God that sounds like hell on earth.
But to answer your question, I have no hesitation to quit a job if I’m not happy. Last job was way more money than I’ve ever made but just not worth the stress
Im about there. This is good money but i just wanted a backup job before quitting. This is only my second job and I've been here 4 years however, my first job lasted 3 months and i was unemployed after quitting for 6 months. I didn't think to file for unemployment or anything, but i still never want to be back in the position of not having a backup plan before quitting. And i have saved enough money to just up and quit and be okay for some years, however i dont want to spend my savings until i move states. And i dont want to move states until the pandemic slacks up a bit more for me to be comfortable on a plane. Its a lot lol
Well you answered your own question if you're storing you're sucking it up so I would go with that lol
