I understand what you mean but a lot of high school work is repetition from older grades. Also I forget school stuff fast but remember well what I learn on my own.

My comprehension skills suck.
But I'm glad I worked hard, it helped later on.
Grammer is very important, I read people's questions and thoughs and I'm amazed at how bad it is.
Granted, people not from this country have a hard time, English can be a hard language to madter.
Life skills classes are great, how to apply for a job, balance a check book, budgeting, investing your money, classes that make you think, math, science, chemistry, physics are all good.
You get a better understanding of how things work, why things are the way they are.
I have yet to have a discussion about the Louisiana purchase on a fire scene.
Maybe a skilled trade is right up your alley.
Just like me.
I started driving a truck, morphed into heavy equipment to being a firefighter, and advanced my way up the ladder.
But it all starts with a good solid education.
You will never know everything, but you should never stop learning.
Education is one thing that can never be taken away from you.
Find something you like and focus on that.

However, I did work in combustion a bit 20 years ago.

I wouldn't charge you $20/hr, because it's probably so easy for me I could do it too quickly. So I would charge you by the piece or project, so that I made more. I might charge you $30 for every hour it would take you if you were to do it, but then I would finish the work in less than half the time.

It's not great to do someone's work for them, but if you have more money than discipline, I guess I don't mind taking it from you. But really I'm robbing you of not only your money, but also from experience. But for me, since I did my own homework in high school, it's now so easy for me, of course I wouldn't mind making a couple hundred dollars for child's play.

How is that going to help you to learn? What are you going to do if you get a job but can't actually can't do it because you never learned anything? Meanwhile, the guy who did your homework now has a good job because it helped him learn things that are good to know.
