Does the word “Uneducated” mean not having a college degree?

People can be educated in other ways. I worked as an engineer at the tech company and a lot of the engineers never went to college, they learned it in the military or they worked for a company in a different capacity and migrated into the job. I graduated college later in life and I considered myself educated before I graduated. I think life was a good teacher.
Uneducated is a pretty straightforward term, but itâs probably too often conflated with undereducated. Uneducated is just a lack of formal education. However, especially with the current state of public skools and universities, you can be educated and still be pretty dumb. You can also be uneducated, yet quite intelligent and learned. Itâs always been funny to me how touchy dummies get when you point out their ignorance.
I would class it as someone who doesn't know stuff most people should have learnt at school or you would expect any person to reasonably know. I don't think it's linked to a particular qualification

That would be "unschooled."

No, there is such a thing as self-educated. Unfortunately, a lot of people who think that they are self-educated are fooling themselves.
As per @purplepoppy
itâs not knowing basic stuff.
itâs definitely not linked to college, university.
If anything people who have a college degree are less educated nowadays because leftists arenât exactly properly educated people theyâre not indoctrinated people
What does the wealth gap have to do with college not truly educated it people and only indoctrinating people into but the social policy yes people who go to college make more money than people who donât go to college doesnât mean that we donât go to college are less educated. Many educated people didnât go to college
I donât hate celebrityâs I just donât care what they have to say on politics. If there promoting a movie or a show or itâs a behind the scenes type thing Iâll listen. I watched the making of the Mandalorian and honestly I thought it was cool that Bryce Dallas Howard directed one of the episodes I think it was the one where they were on that forest planet I canât remember the name of it.
In 2016 I didnât pay attention to politics I liked trump because he was a celebrity. By 2020 I was supper into politics and voted for him again because I didnât want a bunch of socialist running the country
There's a difference between book smart and Street Smart. A lot of people that have college education does not have Street Smart. I found that in the military I found that officers were a bunch of idiots and buffoons trying to prove their superiority.
Some people do mean it in a classist sense. Before student loans were widely available whole generations of working class people were excluded from post secondary education.
there's a LOT of uneducated people in college... lol
Usually find itâs people with said degree using it to belittle others. Known plenty of stupid people with degrees smart people without
Youâre evidently in the former category
Iâve met doctors and lawyers that make you wonder how they tie their shoes in the morning without fucking it up. Some people get so deep into the theoretical or their niches that they forget how to function in the real world
Yes, it used to mean not finishing elementary school, became not finishing high school, and is now finishing college, since a Bachelor's degree is the new high school diploma.
