You need any prior knowledge to study Data Analytics. You will use some softwares such as SQL , Tableu and Excel. These are some basic softwares you will be using. If you want to brush up your skills before pursuing this particular course, you can take up some basic online courses which would give you an overview , how things would work for you in the industry as a data analyst.

Do I need to study IT for 4 years?

No it isn't necessary to study IT to be a data analyst. If you have a bachelor's in mathematics, statistics or finance, you can still be a data analyst. But to be a data scientist you should have a bachelor's in IT. The role of a data scientist is considered somewhat superior as compared to a data analyst. I hope you make the best decision
