Virtual or Office? ... Like working in the pjs? sitting at a coffee shop w/a Cup of Jo? - or still lovin' the office? What's the appeal?

with more people working virtually do you prefer to work outside the office? If so, do you work at home, a coffee shop with a little caffeine in hand, or another location?

If virtual and outside house... is it the people watching? Or change of scenery that helps you focus? I have my own personal opinion... what's yours?

I've never had either but, if possible, I'd rather work at home.

I was at a print shop for 11 years and the last few months I was there, the new owner decided to move the place at least 40 miles away from where it was and I could no longer get there so, I set up the garage to be able to work from there and she'd ship me my work and come pick it up when I was done.

At least that way, I could always get 8 hours in, never had to worry about the extra 90:00 to 2 hours in transport every day or having to take lunch with me or being late. By that time, I was mostly doing hand work and, at the same time, needed to take care of mom since she had a stroke a couple years before and my brother, who WAS taking care of her, decided to kill himself!

Presently, I work in my office Monday through Wednesday, and work from home (WFH) Thursday and Friday.

If given a choice, I would WFH everyday. My health and my family's health are protected. The 30 second commute saves me a fortune in transportation costs, time and aggravation. Relaxed dress code means I can be more comfortable and focus better on work. The sole disadvantage is less direct contact with colleagues/friends.

I like working from home with a zero commute and no dress up. The downside is i spend 20 hours a day in one small room in which I also sleep.
So we arrange to meet up once a month in the office just to prove we are still really there. And every so often, we spend company money on a nice meal for everyone that is available.

I like working in the office but I suppose if a braless coworker with pointed objects came by my desk, that could persuade me to take her…. I mean work from home.

I got kids, so it's great to be able to help them with homework, while I do my work.
Plus, I'm in IT, and on any good day, I do about 3-4 hours of actual work in total.

Office wins if:

-I am 30 minutes or less away from it regardless of traffic.

-Long sleeves/formal attire not required.

-There are great places to eat around.

-Not raining (I commute, I do not have a car).

I work at home. I would trade it for the office. Wife walks around nude or close to it. It gets kinky at times. So I realy can't go back to the office e

Working at home occasionally is good, but you cannot manage people or projects like that.

Working in an office you can focus more, and deal with matters quickly.

Actually it depends. My opinion, sometimes office sometimes virtual. Because people need sociable. If you are always work in home, very boring.
