Do any fellow low wage workers feel like we are expected to have some stronger bond or affection for people at work?

Instead of just doing work because we need to survive? I see a lot of people seem to have friends at work and it seems they are close to some degree.

Sometimes i feel like managers want me to have a personal connection with them. Not in a weird way. I think ita rather normal and typical considering how 'comfortable' many people are at work. I do realize I may be the odd one for thinking this way; maybe I just lost my spark for working.

Work is a job. Job is work. I see no room for Pleasure or Play in there. Yippie 🎉 I’m so excited to get yelled or spoken at by multiple people in different languages in this great melting pot. Work sucks ‼️

Well, it helps you do your job better when you have a good rapport with the other employees and makes it a more pleasant place to work.

I am a very quiet gentle type and I generally have to be around loud aggressive angry or bullying types including the women.

But even when I am around nice calm people... I don't know... I lost my spark for work.
