Why is it unfair to think somebody is racist just because they avoid eye contact with you?

Last two people in the workplace that avoided eye contact was. Today in fact confirmed it, I got racial profiled and it sucks because it was a boss. If I mention something to him he’d most likely somehow harass me on the job or fire me.

Avoiding eye contact alone isn't racist. If they're avoiding eye contact with you but not people of a different race because you're a different race from them, that's racist

Um eye contact doesn't make you racist I don't like to look at people in general makes me nervous

For one thing, eye contact in some cultures is considered disrespectful and in some, it's reserved for those only of "equal rank". CateM made a good point in her response.

Why do you need them to look you in the eye at all? Is it going to help you work better?
