How should school curriculum be adjusted to address the growing male deficit in college enrolment?

(This generally applies more to first-world and heavily westernised countries.)

Is the pre-college/university education system generally more suited for girls than boys?

Should teaching methods be adjusted such that boys are able to learn as effectively as their female peers?

Or does it have to do with the difference between age and rate of female vs male maturation?

Are there any other reasons for this?
