I have never been used to that - I have always done either a 4-5 day work week or a 7 day work week so using 6 never seemed natural to me but I thought I would try to do a 20 hour rest from work once a week.
We already have a six day workweek if one counts all the work to keep up a home that cannot be done due to long hours demanded by corporations during the week. And in the US it is often necessary to work on weekends to avoid being marked for lay-off or to work multiple jobs to make ends meet. Many Americans don’t have any day off at all.

I never stop working… it’s a curse. I have 2 jobs plus I volunteer my time, so there is hardly a minute that I’m not running at 110 mph. but the Bible is right (as always)… you should always rest at least 1 day. Burnout is real. Once you get burnt out it’s hard to recover.

Remember, that was written at a time when an incredibly large percentage of the workforce was involved in farming (I would count handling livestock here as well). As the late great broadcaster Paul Harvey put it:

Working hard in anticipation of one day is interesting in its own sense.Don't care. Sabbath day is Saturday but Christians for some stupid reason keep insisting its Sunday. It is not.
