By “streets”, I assume you mean sex work. Some places it is illegal, and being in a shelter is better than being in a jail cell. And not everyone has the luxury of working safely in that job. Some people have to work independently, which comes with high risk of being assaulted, being kidnapped, being killed, the list goes on.

Drug dealing comes with risks very similar to independent sex work. So, my comment still applies. Also, I know many men who do sex work, and there’s women who pay for it. Attractive women get sex for free. The same as attractive men get sex for free. It’s a very shallow mindset to believe that all women get sex for free.
