Do government jobs have the best work life balance?

I am looking for a job where I can just put my feet up on the desk and chill.

Depends on the level of government. My roommate works with the state for SNAP aka food stamps. She started in their call center, and was basically answering calls for 8 hours straight every day, it was draining but she was able to manage. Eventually, she put in an application for a department change and promotion and got the job. Now she works quality control where she’s able to chill out a lot more in between handling SNAP cases since a lot of it is just waiting for the person to call her. Entry-level government jobs are busy, busy, busy, but as you climb the corporate ladder you’ll find that job where you can put your feet up

Yes, I worked for the state and I had 12 paid holidays, 14 sick days, 3 weeks vacation. There was also snow days when we got snow.

If you want to do that security is a job that you can chill out some jobs. You can even ride a golf cart around.

@iron_man I used to work for one of the state colleges. We got a grant for some golf carts and my department got one. I used to ride around in it all the time. The grant was only good for a year and they were going to be taken back so I drove it down the steps in front of the library. It was really intense.
