What's the perception?
What's the biggest threat to school children?
What's the perception?
I imagine this poll (at least so far) didn't go exactly the way you were hoping. I didn't make a selection, but I mentally picked Both and Other.
Both are a threat, regardless stats. However, if we want to talk about stats, people with unresolved sexual traumas in their childhood are more likely to commit inappropriate sexual acts against children, period. So if you want to delve into who "wins" that unfortunate battle, who has the highest statistical rates of unresolved abuse, go ahead. NOW, that said, I think we should be treating people who have attraction to kids as having a illness, and have a degree of compassion for them so long as they aren't actively engaged in illegal activity with children. They need help. Let them open up about their issues and their traumas so they can seek healing.
That said, "highly publicized" doesn't mean "highest threat".
More kids die from suicide than most other causes of death, except for accidents. Accidents almost always trump any other type of death. But why would kids want to kill themselves? Bullying is, in my mind, the number one threat to school age children. And not only is it detrimental for the victim, bully's themselves often times experience issues at home, tons of emotional and physical abuse, causing stress, lack of self-confidence, etc, which results in them bullying at school to feel like they have more power, more confidence, etc. They take out the way they're treated on others, and learn from the way they're treated on how to treat others, because of what they experience elsewhere in their life. Bullies and their victims both have high rates of suicide.
I don’t know any cases of lgbt teachers grooming, but can name twenty hetero cases of grooming and abusing.
anything that harms children is bad. grooming is bad. and molesting is bad.
so i picked both equally
but which is more likely to happen
*any predator teacher taking advantage of their students*

in essence, the system is not about educating, it's about controlling.
the system takes so much power out of the teachers hands, gives too much to parents. It also forces policies onto teachers that otherwise, the teacher would not implement. Parents don't know what is going on or why their kids will be warped. It's up to the teacher to violate the rules to do what is right for the kids.
may not be the same everywhere. Some schools are awful with the lack of discipline impacting the helthier kids.
diet is the other.
Other school children
not sure about other countries but in the UK, you have more chance of being beaten up, stabbed, shot, killed by another kid at school than anyone else. Revenge Porn, it’s going to be class mates that spread it. Then of course old fashioned bullying and stealing stuff off other school kids.
you should really have school kids on that list.
In the US, how many teachers have shot school kids compared with school kids shooting school kids etc?
Pedophiles being teachers is not common enough to make it a threat but the LGBT community are single handedly destroying the education system and bringing back homeschooling for parents ands kids that don't want to deal with their bullshit. We will homeschool our 3 kids (oldest starts her 1st grade classes in a few months) and the sole reason us because of the LGBT perverts trying to mutilate children.
I believe there are many threats. One threat no one really ever thinks about is unattended bags. Of course, a backpack or a gym back is a very common item that students carry, but of course, they can contain something very sinister. I always believe if you see something, say something. It can prevent tragedy. Best of all, I don't think I will be enrolling my future kids in public school.
School shootings.
people banning books.
no money for education.
Poverty.
to be fair, the US spends more per capita on public ed than nearly every other country on the planet, including Finland and s. Korea
In america, it’s all the kids whose family own guns and how they see that as the solution to all their social problems.
Liberals and the teachers unions. Kids graduate high school not knowing how to do simple math and cannot spell. The public schools in most states are completely failing the students.
That seems to be the goal. They spend a lot of time and money to pick a program that each get worse through the years I have been in the system…to fail the students.
The new program…we verbally give a 5 minute grammar lesson each day. then they are tested on an iPad 2 weeks later. No practice. This new program will be with the system for the next 10-15 years.
@midnightmoon05 in the state I live in rather new governor appointed a new Director of the DOE. He said he was going to "reimagine education". He retired less than two years later. The student scores are dismal and the school committee of one of the largest school systems in the state wants to call out the National Guard to be hall monitors in the high school because too many staff members are getting beat up. Last weekend the teachers union demonstrated in front of the state house to remove the standardized testing. That way there will be no accountability.
The reality is that Jesus is Lord & Christ is King, and children must be taught the same
other children
Bullies who rage on year after year then there a mass shootings
Alphabeth freaks who want to groom students are the biggest threat.
so more alphabet freaks are grooming students than straight teachers are? Are there stats to back this up? Are non-straight teachers being arrested for inappropriate relations with students?
Teachers grooming and molesting children is bad regardless of sexual orientation.
educational system
2nd but 1st is too rare
Bullies? Most useless people in school.
A lack of decent facilities, low teacher pay, and overcrowded classrooms.
US teacher pay matches the highest in the world
Average teacher in the US makes 60k a year
grooming is a serious issue
