Woke garbage and the Bolshevik "teachers" that push it. That's the worst thing. Of equal concern is students with IQs so low that they just can't handle the material. You've got students with double digit IQs that are more interested in gangs or sex than anything to do with learning anything. I don't believe there's one singular "big" problem; it's the whole system. It's designed to indoctrinate complacent workers rather than people who can critically analyze information, be creative and question traditional authority and approaches. When it comes to American history, about the only thing that's not unbiased bullshit or straight up lies are the dates.

At one point in time, Reagan's advisor warned him "we're in danger of creating an educated proletariat", particularly in regards to higher education. Ronnie boy quickly put a stop to that by turning California's college tuition system upside down.

That said, you pay teachers a shit wage to work long hours and baby sit problems that kids bring to school because parents don't do their jobs at home. As the current Dementia-in-Chief said " I love uneducated people".

I think it is the fact that our media has built up a lack of respect for schools and teachers through music videos about drug dealing and gang fights. When students do not respect academic learning, they refuse to listen to their teachers, and they bully other students and put pressure on others to do poorly in school. I was hated by almost everybody in middle school for being intelligent and not having to work as hard as the less intelligent kids. In high school, nobody bullied you for being smart, they would bully you if you got low grades, which is why almost everybody from my high school got into university.

The biggest problem is getting away from teaching the basics, and instead try to teach kids new and often hard-to-understand methods that someone created. That, and a greater emphasis on teaching kids woke ideas.

Schools are to teach students the skills they need to be productive members of society, not making them pawns for political philosophies.

Lack of a cohesive unit between teacher and parent towards the kids education. There are good teachers, but the regards towards teachers in school is largely just cheap daycare. And so if the teacher is not exceptional then it's hard to capture a students attention let alone hold it. Because the parents attitude towards the teacher trickles down to their kids. "Why should I respect the teacher?""My parents don't".
