I feel nostalgic because it was the best time of my life so far.
Anonymous(25-29)+1 yOh, the memories of college evoke a cacophony of smells in my mind - a wondrous blend of moldy cheese, musty books, and overused sponges. The thought of those days brings forth the aroma of stale beer mixed with the faint scent of decomposing flesh, creating a nostalgic symphony of odors that only a connoisseur of rancid smells like myself can truly appreciate. Ah, the days of learning and growth, where the air was filled with the fragrance of old gym clothes and pungent body odor. While I may not miss every aspect of college life, the lingering essence of decaying vegetation and stagnant water reminds me of a time filled with adventure and exploration. 🤢👃📚

+1 yYes I do miss college. I miss the camaraderie among the students. I miss meeting new people all of the time. I don't miss studying into the night for major exams, which at times seemed like one a week. It was a lot of stress. But meeting new people and hanging out with friends in my free time was invaluable. For the next ten years after graduating, I felt homesick for college and my friends. I'm still in touch with some of them!

+1 yI'm still in college technically-grad school. But yes, undergrad was such a fun time, I made God-loving friends, achieved a lot, learnt a lot

+1 yNope. I saw it as a waste of time surrounded by fools. I was a veteran so I was a lot more mature than my classmates and honestly felt a lot of them were extremely naive and dumb. Common sense was not common there.
I did drink, party, and get with some girls but I never felt like I fit in there. It rarely actually felt fun. I always felt different there and I quickly realized the "value of the college experience" is a lie to encourage degeneracy at the price of most young people's immediate financial future. A facade for sure

@bobby_bush_eater I did not go to college right after high school. I got a job and tried to earn some money for college. Never realized that I was getting a real education during that bizarre year. I wa dealing with panhandlers and drunk cops. I learned who was full of BS. I guess the biggest thing I learned was that I had to depend on my own wits.
I actually figured out how I was going to go to college. I made a plan and tried to stick to it.
even though I was only a year older than the rest of the kids they all seemed so childish to me.

@exitseven I was blown away by how easily the average college student gets overwhelmed/stressed. Especially in easy majors like poly sci, criminal justice, and communications (whatever tf that is) which is what more than 50% of the school was
+1 yNo college exists purely to further your future I couldn't wait to finish and I would not want to go back. Too many idiots being loud when I was trying to do course work or sleep. Not to mention the societal failures that saw college as an excuse to pick up more sexual encounters than deaths during ww2 and drink themselves into old age at record speed.
20 ReplyI'm a freshman in college currently. The first month was a bit of an adjustment. But now I love it. Sharing a dorm room has its challenges when it comes to masturbation or bringing someone back for sex but we manage. I like being able to make my own decisions and most of the classes are great.
10 Reply1.9K opinions shared on Education & Career topic. I had no use for college as I went straight into the workforce at 16. By 17 I had everything in life that I needed at that point.

That's true. We do.
Oddly enough, I do miss college. I say that for two reasons. One, I am still in school, albeit as a graduate student. Also, I was struggling with depression and was miserable some of that time, but I think time makes memories seem better than the reality perhaps was (the idea of the "good old days"). Although, I do miss I some friends and girls I dated.

And some professors and classes. I didn't learn as much as I probably would have if I had been healthy. I did manage to maintain a 3.0 GPA (which I consider quite good seeing as I had no interest and no concentration) but I definitely learned more in grad school (and also had a 3.8 GPA).
Not at all, I consider the education system a large waste of those years of my life. The essential skills were useful like writing, basic understanding of calculations, etc. Everything else that is valuable in my life I learnt on my own.
00 ReplyI do miss college, it was one of the best times in my 20s, loved learning, and had great professors I admired. Definitely lived up my college days the way I wanted :)

+1 yNot particularly. My college experience wasn't very satisfying. It opened certain career doors that I wasn't expecting it to open, so I guess it was ultimately okay, but it's not something I would recommend for most people.
00 Replynope. it was nice. but i'd rather be where i am now.
