Do you miss High School?

Question

I'm still in high school but some days I can't wait to graduate and be done but apart of me thinks I'm gonna miss it too. I used some of Christmas money to buy this new outfit for school.

Not in the slightest, high school was mostly unappealing to me and I couldn't wait for it to be over with. I felt like once I was out of high school, "real life" could begin.

Cons:

Boring: The material being taught was totally uninteresting.

Math: I didn't like math, but I could do it; it was just a pain in the ass and took a lot of time up. Now, I am in college and I love math. Because I'm learning and practicing on my own, by choice. I hate being forced to do stuff.

"Social life" : I was really into reading books and acting, and there was no drama or theater department in my school and even in the community there were no plays or any live performance art to speak of. It was a small mining town in north Idaho. I ended up with the "stoner" group I guess because I was poor. I had a pretty decent sized friends group and a couple closer friends, but for the most part I didn't really care too much about engaging anyone, and few people took any interest in me. I got picked on a little by the senior guys, but I also got protected by the senior girls, who would swoop in and get me out of trouble when they tried to mess me. <3 There were a couple other bully types in my school, but I just kept a radar out for them, and avoided them about 95% of the time.

Sports: I liked to play soccer, there was no soccer team. It was just wrestling, football, and basketball. I wasn't really into any of them, but signed up for basketball and was put on the "bomb squad" that never got to play.

Pros:

I did enjoy my friends a fair bit, I guess we had fun on the daily. I spent my time when I wasn't reading wandering the streets with them, or playing pool at the youth center. I am to this day usually the top pool player at almost any place I go.

But that's the part of high school when I wasn't actually in school. The school part of it was such a drag. I think also I really did poorly in the small town vibe, I'm more of a world traveler, but at that point I hadn't actually been anywhere. I just knew I needed to get out.

You look like one of the "hot, popular" girls that I would fantasize about when masturbating, but who I probably didn't talk to more than 5 times my whole time in school. So I can see how high school might be fun for you. I was younger than everyone else in my grade due to skipping, and the senior girls would flirt with me and tease me with sexual talk. I think it was fun for them because I was very shy about it and would get super embarrassed. I didn't really date anyone or do anything with girls. I didn't lose my virginity until I'd been at college a couple semesters, when I was 17.

Yeah I definitely miss it I played sports so I was very very popular I had some of the best times in my life in high school trust me when you graduate you're gonna miss it cause I can tell you a popular as well you should have been a cheerleader

I do miss High school, because I've left my old school and I'm doing my last year in a new school and basically really miss all my friends, and how we're all separated rn and I actually really wish I could just go back and be happy... since this coronavirus has come, it separated all of us and its all gone now... in literally a month, no one knew that was coming, we were all so normal... and now its just... it brings me tears
because even tho i hated school, I did love the teachers and all my classmates, and school mates there, it was really a fun time we all had, and spent together and it hurts knowing i won't be able to feel that way again... and i regret not enjoying those moments

I was going through a ton of shit during high school. I don't miss that. But I do miss all the fun activities my high school had.

I miss having the energy of an 18 year old and i suppose I miss it being alright to be attracted to girls as young as the one in the pictures, but that's where it ends. High school was a rat race with everyone too interested in chancing upon effortless success to have learned much about how the world works. The luxury of being able to reject the help and humanity of others just for not being attracted to them is something that can easily burn you when real world consequences become a factor in everyday life. But a lot of people have managed to avoid those consequences so it's probably fine. I just think the general mistrust that high school culture teaches it's lesser achievers (be it socially or academically), for no discernable reason, causes a lot of uneccisary problems down the road.

I had fun in High school, but it was definitely long enough. LoL!
I miss joking around with my old friends or some of the miss and the parties in the 90's.
Overall school still kinda sucked. I'm a father now, and had a much more exciting marriage and stuff after high school was over.

No. There were a bunch of shit bags in the neighborhood that all my friends and I still hate to this day, and that was 27 years ago. They called themselves the Spur Posse, some of the worst people I've ever met. They beat up the weaker kids, raped girls or got them strung out on meth. My brother, friends, and I fought with them for years. We were all from Lakewood, California. Not a rough neighborhood but a lot of white trash, parties, and street fights. My brother and I would fight anybody back then and win most of the time. Once high school was over, I rarely saw them and stayed away from the places they hung out. I would probably be in jail for the rest of my life if I didn't avoid them.

I have no idea what kinds of high schools the people who direct high school movies went to, but I want to go there. My happy ending was bailing and not looking back. No teary last minute reconciliation.

High School sucked for the most part. I don't miss it. College was pretty cool though. Sometimes I miss that some. Mostly I just regret goofing off so much and not spending more time doing homework.
