**Or Big Car Payments? xxoo
I spoke on this a little on another question about real rich people and the poser ones.
If it's an investment purchase where you'll probably pay someone else to take care of the car... that's one thing.
You buying some shit to go get groceries, then you don't even need a new car. A car is worth about half as soon as you drive it off the lot. So buy that shit off craigslist. If you have to go on a payment plan to buy a car, then why are you even buying that car... trying to look cool? WTF?
Too many people in this world try to keep up with the Jones, and nobody really give a shit.
Look at Bill Gates's clothes... I can buy his outfit for under $40 at the thrift store. That's what real money does. His divorce (I'm just going to hint at this), that payment... now think about this... isn't that one way to transfer money without the same taxes having to be payed? They're not buying shit for no reason. Start paying attention to what Nancy Pelosi buys in stocks and buy that shit too if you want to be like them. But don't go buy a fucking BMW like a retard.
Now I know that flashy shit appeals to young people that don't have shit. Tupac counting a stack of $20 bills that couldn't of been more than a couple thousand looks really fucking flashy to some kid that's not even allowed to work. But think about it, those little stacks the bank gives you are 10k for each one.
I'll put it like this... you need a tool, a fucking screwdriver because you're going to do some shit you need a screwdriver for. You're just dumb if you buy a gold or platinum screwdriver. Buy a used car that works... don't buy some bullshit you don't even need.

No I don't think you should spend more than 15 grand for a car honestly, I feel like that kind of money and higher should go towards owning your own house instead. You can have a car that works good and looks decent for considerably less. It may not look super flashy but I don't care about the looks of a car as much as I do how well it works.
I wouldnât say itâs âworth itâ, but thatâs what Iâm doing, lol.
When I was looking for a car last year I saw a lot of old shitty cars for $20K+.
So I just bought a new one with basic fancy gadgets to help shitty drivers like me. My car payments are about $760 a month and it wasnât even the car I wanted 🥴
Nope. I'd rather buy an older one I can either repair or have repaired easily and cheaply. I don't need anything fancy.

I think, if your intent is to get as much life out of it as possible, then a new (likely more expensive) car (with regular oil changes, tire rotations, and coolant top offs) will do that for you. You could get 20 years (easy) out of a new car that you do regular maintenance on. So if it's 15k. That's less than a thousand a year. But if you're really hard on vehicles and avoid regular maintenance, you might be better off with something used, probably sold directly by the owner instead of a dealership so there's no profit margin. Just whatever the owner thinks it's worth.
Not really considering you'll probably pay at least that much in repairs over the years you'll own it since modern cars are deliberately made so that you can't fix them yourself.
On top of that the car is going to lose about half it's value the moment you drive it off the lot.
I paid 1,500$ for my truck it's 30 years old and I've probably put at least 3,000$ into it at this point. But it's paid off and I don't have to worry about car payments and I can fix or try to fix most things on the truck myself without taking it to a mechanic which saves me money. And parts for it are extremely common and even if I sink another 5,000$ into it I'd still be saving money compared to if I had bought a car from a dealership.
Moral of the story be smart, car dealerships are a scam.
I personally think it's worth buying a nice looking economical car and looking after it for 5-10 years rather than buying one for 5 grand with high mileage. By the time you change the clutch, fly wheel, injectors, cam belt or chain you've spent another 5 grand and have a headache. Plus if you are in the US where automatic transmission is quite standard, if your gearbox goes then that's a big cost too. Lexus hybrid petrol works with a different system so are very economic and reliable. If you don't have the money then I guess you buy what you can afford but if you can invest a little more then it's worth it. I like the saying, I'm not rich enough to buy something cheap. Obviously just a generalisation.
Yes, if I want it. Don't live small; instead, increase your earnings. If you cannot afford the lifestyle and things you want then you're doing your life all wrong. You gotta learn how to earn money. This isn't a test run; you get 1 life and then it's over.
I think that 15k would be my limit as well when buying a car for a small family. Over expensive cars do nothing but define your social status. If you don't care much about that, then just make a practical choice coz let's be real, a 15k car would drive as far as a 20k. Luxury/features are secondary when opting for a more practical choice.
But it also depends if the person has a large family, then they might need an SUV, in which case they would easily spend around 20k or more.Definitely make a difference on what you buy, not really invested in unless itâs a classic. In 2019 I spend 49,695 on a new Jeep Wrangler lot of money for me at the time, but always wanted one. Today if I sold in could easily get 42,000 from the right person. So not bad loss for five year of driving.
Depending on what kind of car your basic car is not an investment.
Unless, it is a classic that is not over priced to start with those will continue to increase in value, but they will cost more than 15k.
Otherwise buy a good one, take care of it and it will last a long time, hopefully way longer than the payments last.To me a car is transportation. It brings me and my cargo from Point A to point B.
I buy a vehicle new and take care of it and keep it for a long time. It is not really an investment because almost all the time you will lose money on a car.. I usually spend a lot more than 15K but it is necessary.
There are 3 kinds of cars:
1 commuter cars ones that you own to just get to and from
2 show cars ones that you own to show off
3 cars you get because they are FUN, ones you really want.
The second two are definitely worth your money.
Honestly no. My wife and I refuse to buy anything that has a factory installed GPS system, infotainment system, or rally any kind of car that's overly electronic. I don't want any way for these shitty manufacturers to track what I do and sell info to data brokers.
It's why my car is a stick shift, it's why nothing in it is power (no power locks or windows or seats) it's why I don't have any kind of infotainment system in the car..I think it's worth it because of free basic maintenance for 10 years that is standard now. I know people who sell and buy new right at the 10 year mark. Personally I buy as 2nd owner and continue to take it for maintenance at the dealer only. They seem to last longer that way instead of my crappy job at maintaining.
Depends what people are into. I have camera lenses I probably donât need.
But statistically, buying used and a well reviewed model car can last you over 10+ years. Most car buyers trade theirs in because of consumerist want.
Hey itâs capitalism.
In the US, even simple compact cars cost more than 15 grand... for a new car. About the only car you can get for less than that is a well-used car.
15k is cheap now a days for a car. Mine cost 38k but it's a bigger car with lots of features. It's been well worth the money. Maybe for people who don't drive a lot and don't have kids then a cheaper car would be fine
You donât invest in a car, a car depreciates the moment you buy it. There are a few cars that do increase in value but not many. Tbh I get circa £15k discount on a few new cars.
Depends on what you really need. If itâs for a job, then you probably want the best tool. If itâs just a private luxury, then you really have to have the money to throw away.
That's a Lexus Paris. That's WAY more than 15,000 And yes, absolutely. I mean I know it's just for getting from A to B, but getting from A to B in style and comfort is a whole lot better!
Find me a new car under 15k but that aside it isn't worth it unless it's making money
My friend in exotic rentals has a Porsche Carrera GT that cost him £500,000 but that grosses £15,000 a dayNot much out there under 15k. Yes we have in the past.. make it good quality one
A car is not an investment unless it's a classic or rare car. All other cars are a depreciating item losing value as you drive it. So they're only worth what you're willing to pay and want to afford and yes they've gotten way you expensive.
