I watched Andrew Huberman get exposed for being a serial cheater and now some people are speculating that he may lose his sources income because his alleged infidelities will taint his work even though his content is helpful to some and has nothing to do with relationships and instead has to do with biology and neuroscience.
Should this be a thing? should people really lose their careers/ jobs all because they've been exposed for cheating?
He'll be fine. I read that New Yorker article and wow was it nothing but a hit piece. Even if I presume every single word of the article is true, what does it tell us? That he's a shitty boyfriend. That's pretty much it. Like literally IT. He wasn't even alleged to be abusive in any way. He cheated on his girlfriends.

Dude could never work another day in his life and he's already set. People love his content so regardless of who his current sponsors are, others would like up to catch some of the attention that he brings in. He'll be FINE. This happens all the time and has done since image , optics and public / professional opinion mattered. Even if is is not given or stated as the eventual or ultimate reason for a person to have to vacate their position it has likely factored heavily in the judgment. This is really obvious in the roles where how a person is perceived by their audience but also in areas where you really wouldnāt expect it. I. e an ordinary person in a relatively ordinary job becomes more visible because of an either gossip or rumour in a negative way which leads to attention being paid to them putting them under a spotlight. This pressure often places the individual at a disadvantage , causing them stress to the extent that they screw up and theyāre fired or that they leave because of being put under the microscope.
So to answer the question , yes it should be a thing in respect to areas of professional conduct as thatās always been there but image and optics ALWAYS matter. From CEOs and CTOās down to the average joe ( and Joanne ) as I wouldnāt want anyone to think itās gender specific !!
Funny because back then my boss fired me because he thought Im cheating with a married co worker and that I was having sex with him and that Im pregnant which is so wrong and defamation of my character. I know its wrong that he didn't even ask the truth he just fired me on the spot because of issues like that. Some of my cowokers reported it to him which is not true by the way. Im still waiting for the karma of all people who made gossips like that.

I'm always wondering around this, great that you asked it.
I voted with: No, they shouldn't lose their careers or jobs.
They should be held accountable for their mistakes in that particualr area, especially when not directly related to their job or work.
Precautions are then enforced as needed. Otherwise, why give scandal or people imperfection more attention than contribution?
We are all imperfect and we do mistakes. Generally people find thrill or fun or excitement knowing such news.
We shouldn't allow it. Be it just a bad wide spread individual nature, or someone benefiting from smearing others.
If for example it comes from a teacher, then the effect is direct and has to affect their job.
But if a worker or an engineer for example, then they are warned within work ethics.
When a male engineer for example is playing around a lot with girls, then we know it may come to affect work as it starts becoming personal, and if not we as males know how women can turn a man's mind, attention, and behavior upside down.
That's why they are given a warning and precautions are enforced.. if not behaved, then yes they may lose their position.

Depends on the person and situation.
Oh is he a social media influencer? That's different because he's a public figure. If the platform bans him (which I'm completely against), that's one thing. But if people choose to stop viewing his content, there's nothing you can do. That being said, I think it's sad that people have become so sensative and can no longer see the bigger picture. They only focus on the NEGATIVE and this is wrong. I know Sasha Baron Cohen was trolling but I agree with what he said to OJ, "You have one slip up, suddenly that's all they remember you for. But in terms of like an a real world career, absolutely not. Scumbags need to make a living to, and you'd figure they'd prefer to have these people working and contributing to society instead of scumbagging.

If you are in a job that requires public trust (military and first responders come to mind first), then yes. If you cannot be trusted with the person you are supposed to love, how can you be trusted not to steal, take bribes, sell secrets, etc?
The military's UCMJ actually punishes adultery. If you are married and cheat on your spouse, the military can incarcerate you, take your rank and pay, kick you out and all kinds of stuff.
Contrary to popular belief, those of us in law enforcement typically do not trust officers who are unfaithful in their relationships. Sure we will work with them anyways, but we will never depend on them.
Now, if you are some officer worker, warehouse worker, social media person, etc. then no.
Anyone who thinks this should happen should really think it through, because this would put 1/3 of all workers out of a job - and that includes many of YOU.
I think that there are circumstances where you should lose your job, but not your entire career. If you are dating a coworker, especially someone with power over your career, and you are both fired when that is exposed, you can both get similar jobs elsewhere.

No you should not, don't get me wrong I hate cheating and think it's horrible, but no one should lose their job for it unless it directly effects their job like a marriage counselor for example. Because then that they are being hypocritical in their job. I think so. Maybe if more people would get into more serious trouble for cheating like losing their careers they would think twice before destroying a person or their family by doing something so damn selfish as cheating.
