The US education system used associative recall focused teaching. So i can’t know what i’ve forgotten until i try to remember it. Until my recall is challenged, i will just assume i remember everything that i learned from classes i passed. I don’t remember any physics that i learned in skool. When i was doing the math in the apprenticeship, a lot of my trigonometry from skool came rushing back. Hadn’t used it in years.
I’m admittedly not good with geography. Despite having almost certainly studied all the US states and capitals, i probably couldn’t put them together if handed a blank map. I definitely would not get a passing grade on a similar global map.

none of the facts you learn in school matter. what matters is that in order to make it through school, you had to come up with certain strategies. for example to structure your day. structure your studying times, take notes so you memorize. understand when you need to know something and what you have to do to know what you need to know when you need to know it.
these are the things that subcounsciously burn themself into your brain. you can not get rid of it even if you wanted and whether you realize it or not that is setting the rock solid fundamental pillars on which you can build your entire life.
You never forget anything. It's all up there, not only the lesson but what colour the teachers shirt was and what you had for lunch that day. It's accessing those memories that's the problem.
I think after exams are finished we all shake our heads to pour the excess info out of our ears.
feel like i remember a lot of it but it's like the use of em i don't till i practice it ESPECIALLY for math
like i remember linear equations and rational expressions... shit like that. same for physics or chemistry bc it's all just plugging info into equations

Realizing that most of the times I would only study for the grades and exams (the wrong reasons), I probably forgot about 70% of the things.
