I work in a factory job in a rough part of town and the people make me feel uncomfortable what should I do?

often just because someone lives in a different part of town, they are the same as everyone else, potentially a little rough around the edges but often more genuine.

The other option is to change jobs, however factory jobs are often where those that work factory jobs live.

Some of the people were friendly but some were quite aggressive and gossipy which I didn’t enjoy

Carry a pocketknife at all times and power through it while you can, but in your spare time, learn new skills and continuously apply to new positions. Hell, even start a business of your own. There's tons of side hustles you can do.

Get comfortable carrying a weapon, a knife or a gun or at the very least some pepper spray. And maybe pick up throat-singing, it’s a good way to freak people out and maybe convince them to keep their distance.

Sometimes looks can be deceiving.

Either find another job, get used to it, or try getting to know them.

Not much else u can do in those situations.

There was a group of youths that broke into the factory one night causing trouble while we were working and the colleagues have told me the company has hired ex prisoners and junkies

ex-prisoners and junkies need a job too. there's plenty of them in my profession so I'm used to it
