What should I do, resign?

At the beginning of the yr I started working admin at a small business. They weren’t able to pay me since October. The 1st check I was expecting to get a few days late now I’m going on check 3 I don't know where time went. I continued working giving them the benefit of the doubt.
I started to raise an eyebrow a few months ago when they weren’t able to pay the bills.
today I was told I’m next to be paid.

- Give your 2 weeks notice in writing stating lack of pay as reason for leaving. Get it all documented.

- File for unemployment since they owed you wages from work already done. Claim unpaid wages too if it comes to that.

- Reach out to your contacts ASAP about other opportunities. Let them know your situation so they get you an interview fast.

- Brush up that resume TONIGHT and start blasting it out everywhere online too. Get those applications in flowin!

- Post about it on social media that you're looking again. You never know who might know of something.

- Treat yourself with the first decent paycheck from the new gig! You earned it after dealing with that stress.

This is a part time gig thank goodness.

I love the mission of this work and since it’s a start up company was giving the benefit of the doubt and still I am giving grace🤦‍♀️. I feel so dumb. They keep saying they are waiting on a check.

& you are so right about the mental health. I keep going back and forth in my mind. How disappointed in myself that I let it go this far. My last check was September 20th.

I’ll be having a discussion with them today. I’m fighting the 2 weeks notice but I’m going to do it today.

Yo girl, don't even feel dumb about this - that's on them for not being upfront! You were trying to support a start-up, that's respectable.

The company you're working for is having serious financial issues. You can put up with that, and risk not being paid for your work, or you can find a new job. If it were me, I'd have the resumes out, and if something good comes along from a more solid company, I'd take it
