Are people actually this stupid like in real life?

So I was watching one of those public interviews on instagram it’s all dumb fun a lot of the time people are asking trick questions to subvert your attention from the actual answer. Like the age old if your mom has three children north, east and west what’s the name of the fourth child question. Basic trick question by naming three if the cardinal directions to make you think the next answer would be south which in reality your the dirty child your name would’ve be the answer but this pretty basic if you’ve heard this once before or just think before answering you can get this right. But the question asked in the video is just a bad question cause the quote on quote answer sorta makes no sense. The question was do you know your abcs if answered yes then the interviewer asks what is the first and last letter of the alphabet. Now correct me if I’m wrong but context droning on a question effects an answer quiet drastically. The girl and many others in the video always answer a and z just to be told there dumb and wrong the answer is a and r because they wanted you to give the last and first letter of the word alphabet. People are in the comments flaming this poor girl and calling her dumb acting as if the education system failed her but I’m looking at everyone else like the dumb because she got the answer right. Even if the correct answer is a and t given it supposed to be a trick question her answer is not wrong by any means. YET there were people literally trying to argue with me as if I was wrong are people actually this stupid? Like they gotta be trolling right?😭
