Do straight men who works as a nurse get discriminated against?

I’m 30 and I don’t have a career and I’m thinking about becoming a lpn and working my way up to become a sports doctor and I was wondering if straight men have any trouble in the nursing field. I would assume it’s a female dominated position from observing the nurses in my family.

To be a sports doctor you would need 2 or 3 years more college with pre-med courses, 4 years of medical school with a bunch of 22 year olds, 2 years internship, 2 years residency, 2 years residency in sports medicine, now you're 42 years old and $200,000 in debt just starting your career, which would probably be in family medicine for 5 years at around $200,000, then you would have some experience by age 47 to move over into sports medicine at around $300,000 and have only 15 to 20 years at it, probably maxing out at $400,000 but completely burned out.

A better thing for money and lifestyle would be to go right to RN and be a nurse for the next 30 years.

I think they're in demand. My mom is a nurse and likes to have male nurses available because they're more help, mainly because they're stronger. I've never heard of them being discriminated against.

The dean of Nursing at the college where I teach is a good friend of mine. She told me that there are more guys going into nursing than ever. She said that hospitals like to hire male nurses because they are stronger.

That is like trying to sell bricks at a farmers a fruit market, there is low demand for male nurses outside of psychiatric facilities or drug clinics where they might need a strong man to restrain a violent patient or lift an obese patient the females cannot care. What nobody says out loud is the risk of rape is higher with males and hospitals want to avoid $10,000,000 lawsuits or $500,000 lawyers.

It is a female dominated field but no worries, it ain't as hard for you males to enter female dominated fields as it is for the opposite. If good looking, you might have to deal with flirting from older women, but nothing obscure.
