I went to a small town rural highschool. We were able to get away with more as football players. Jocks weren't bullies like the movies in my school but we definitely got privileges.

Speaking as an American who went through the Highschool Experience, yes jocks were actually there.

There were these football jocks in school and they weren’t bullies, though some were rowdy / others sometimes got into trouble also were ‘extroverted’. The ‘dumb jock’ stereotype was nowhere to be found, more often than not the popular girls were the dumbest and be infuriating to deal with on a daily level especially if you got paired with them (though that is just my experience, everyone’s differs)
