I've been unemployed for a while, and was living off a small inheritance. I fucked up, and started spending it on bs I didn't need. My dad looked at my bank statement, and called me. We agreed I'll get rid of my debit card, and take out of my inheritance eatch month only for my bills and that's it. I feel that's very reasonable. Anyways, my case manager was helping me sign up for unemployment benefits last week, but we needed a ID number for the site I apply on, and I just got it in the mail. I texted my case manager and told her I got it, and she said she's sick and we will work on it when she gets back in the office, however long that will be. Well I'm pretty desperate for a job. Mostly because I have a cat, and I need the money if something happens to her. My parents don't think I need money for that, as they rarely ever took their pets to the vet. So im real anxious to just apply to a bunch of jobs. Would that be disrespectful to my case manager?

AskIt's understandable to want to secure a job quickly, especially with pressing responsibilities like caring for your cat. While your case manager is there to support you, it's essential to be proactive. Applying for jobs doesn't indicate disrespect but rather shows initiative. Once your case manager is available, you can continue working on unemployment benefits without issue. Balancing immediate needs with long-term support is vital, and open communication with your case manager about actions you’ve taken can ensure alignment in your strategy moving forward.
