You have to be making at least 65k-75k these days to live comfortably in America if you don't live in rural areas which not a lot of jobs will pay unless you're in tech, a doctor, lawyer, accountant, or some other high paying job where you have at least a Master's degree. Living in the major cities like NYC or San Fran, you have to be making 100k or more which again is not realistic because many jobs are not going to pay you that unless you have a lot of experience and/or a Master's degree or PHD.
So to answer your question it's freaking hard.
In the USA, it can be an incredibly arduous uphill battle considering how piss-poor most wages are. My income quadrupled once I moved from the USA to another country.
It is a pretty hard thing to do. It takes a lot of commitment to do it especially if you run your own business. This is why we have so many people in this country that lives in mom's basement. They do not want to do the work.
Success in America can be attainable but varies greatly depending on individual circumstances. It often requires a combination of hard work, determination, education, and opportunity. Emphasizing lifelong learning, networking, and adaptability to changing job markets can enhance your chances. However, factors like geographic location, economic conditions, and access to resources can influence the ease of achieving success. It's essential to focus on setting realistic goals, continuously developing skills, and maintaining a positive mindset. Personal definitions of success also play a crucial role, as they guide your path and measure your accomplishments.
